Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is this 1951 Packard "200" Deluxe Standard 8 Sedan with "Ultramatic" transmission... Packard's styling was all new for 1951 and the "200" series was the designation given to their entry-level models for that year and for '52. The Deluxe version of the 200 was offered only as a 4-Door Sedan or a Club Sedan. This is the Deluxe 4-Door model and this one is very straight, very original and very complete. The body has no rust, other than surface rust on the top and deck, where the paint is peeling. Most of the chrome and the stainless moldings are in great shape, but the pot-metal pieces have the usual pitting. The glass taillight lenses and parking light lenses are also in nice shape with no cracks. The hubcaps and trim rings are all there and in decent shape with a few dings here and there. The interior is all original with the exception of the rear seat, which was re-covered at some point. All the fabric on the seats and door panels show signs of wear and age, but all have their original patterns intact. The painted surfaces - dash and all window garnish moldings are in very nice shape and still wear original paint. The steering wheel, horn ring, column and gauge cluster are also in excellent condition. The car is currently not running, but the engine and transmission are complete and the engine turns freely. This has been a California car since new, it has a clear title, black plates and was last registered on personalized "51 Pack" plates. A great candidate for restoration, or drop an SBC/Turbo 400 combo in it, a fresh set of wide whites and a suede paint job with some traditional pin-striping and go cruising to your favorite '50s diner! Please ask questions, the car is located in sunny Southern California and can be viewed by appointment. International bidders welcome. Winning bidder to make arrangements for pick-up or shipping. PayPal deposit to be paid within 24 hours of auction end with full payment expected within 7 days. PayPal, cash and wire transfer accepted. Low starting bid and low reserve. Thanks for looking and good luck!
