Vehicle Detail

1960 Austin Healey Sprite. Body was taken down to bare metal and rust repair was performed and panels replaced. Car was painted with the original Colorado Red. Paint was basecoat/clearcoat. Body was color sanded and buffed to a very high luster. Then, the car was re-assembled with all new rubber gaskets seals and other parts. The seats and side panels on the interior are original and re-dyed black. The chassis is all original with a minor amount of rust still remaining in the foot well. This could be easily repaired and will leave that to the discretion of the new owner. It was not bad enough that I was worried about fixing it right away. The only thing remaining to do on the interior would be to purchase a new carpet set. The seats are OK for a driver quality car, but you might want to re-cover them at some point. The car runs well, but could probably use a good tune up and carb adjustment. In order to get this car on the road, I replaced all of the braking components, lines, hoses, drums, master cyl, wheel cyl...etc. There is a new clutch slave cylinder also. The wheels were sand blasted painted and new tires mounted and balanced. The original wide whitewall spare tire is in the trunk. I also replaced the following, starter, battery and electronic ignition. The car starts everytime and runs pretty well, good oil pressure too. Also, I have the top and frame, side curtains and a tonneau cover, they are just not pictured. The original owner at one point, many years ago had wrecked into a tree, causing the frame horns to be bent in a little. I have driven this car a lot since I have painted it and it drives nice and straight with no problems at all. This is a great driver quality car and is quite the head-turner. Everywhere I take it, it gets many compliments. I am the second owner of this car. I purchased it in June of 2012. Prior to that, it sat in a shed in Pittsburgh for 33 years. When the original owner stopped driving it, he put it away in 1979. It sat there until I purchased it. This is a great little car and with a little more TLC, you could have a great little weekend cruiser. Top down, summer driving! This is a 54 year old car and therefore, there is no warranty either expressed or implied. I will assist in anyway with transporting the car, but will not be involved in the cost. I will require a $500 non-refundable deposit 48 hours after auction end. Thanks for viewing my auction, please ask any questions before bidding.
