Blue Book "Value Guide" for a real deal 1973 -74 CR 250M is nearly $8,000.00 ..Also, Keep in mind.This is a California Motorcycle which for Most any Classic car etc etc typically Brings considerably More money & makes Her More Collectable...Also, The 1979' CR 250 is Technically a FAR Better & a FAR More Vintage Racing Competitive version of the CR 250 as compared to a 1973 -74 CR 250M ELSINORE...I believe this to be ..a Very Spirited & I think should be a "A Potentially, Truly Competitive Vintage Racing bike" & I am offering this for a Small Fraction of that amount with a "Buy it Now" of only 1975 US dollars which may sound like a fair amount of money but consider this...."Earlier this year "Moto-Cross Action Magazine" did an Large Article on the slightly early ELSINORE CR125M & said the value at this time was something around $9,000.00 ! ! ! & Everyone I have talked to as (Well as N.A.D.A. Value Guide) states that a CR 250 averages approximately (On Average at least $1,000.00 More Valuable than a 125 CR on average for years 1973-79 )... NADA Value Guide for a Nice example of one of these 1979 CR 250's is nearly $5,500.00 (& that is without any of the 1973 CR 250 Visual Conversion that was Magnificently done on this Beautiful 73 CR 250 tribute)...Also, Recently, I have seen several of these bikes that were Very Beat & Very Faded Not much left of them & (totally UN restored) selling for FAR MORE $$$$ than my Ridiculously Low Buy It Now Price" & again they were ALL UN (Not) restored, fairly Beat, Raw, UN-Cosmetically restored & More importantly all were Un-(NOT) Beautifully transformed to look like a STUNNINGLY CLASSIC 1973-74 CR 250 HONDA ELSINORE. Again..This is a BEAUTIFUL 1973-74 CR 250 ELSINORE "TRIBUTE" was made from a 1979 HONDA ELSINORE CR 250 (Mainly Because a 79' CR 250 ELSINORE has nearly 3 Times the Suspension Travel & More Torque & HP than a 73 CR250 Elsinore ! ).. This Beauty was just Now Cosmetically Restored (as detailed above & below) to look a lot more like a 1973 & 74 CR 250 M ... This GREAT Running "Ready To Go" 79 CR 250 (1973 Honda Elsinore CR 250M Vintage Race "Tribute" Bike)....Just to get everyone up to speed With ~5 More years of Cutting Edge "HONDA Racing Development"...a 1979 CR 250 is By FAR a Technically Better & Mechanically Superior bike as compared to a 1973-74 CR250M ELSINORE (as detailed below) ..Again, This beauty was just Now Freshly Cosmetically Restored as detailed below..(IE) (She was Thoroughly Disassembled: cleaned, refinished, re-upholstered, Brand New Rear tire & Tube, Brand New "UNI" Updated Air Cleaner + New "HIGH QUALITY" "D.I.D." Drive Chain etc etc) + She was Beautifully Visually converted from a 1979 CR 250 ELSINORE ..to look a lot like a 1973 -74 ELSINORE CR 250 M.(IE..that is why we are calling this a 1973 CR 250 "Tribute") Please Note: Being that it has Vintage style Dual rear shocks & a HONDA 250 CR Dirt Racing Air Cooled etc. I believe that it is one of the ~Last years of the GREAT Vintage Racing Honda CR 250 ELSINORE's Ever Made ! This Vintage Racing Capable bike has been finished to look a lot like a 1973 CR 250 M ELSINORE, The GREAT News is ...Having a couple extra years of AMAZING "HONDA Development & Updating" this is a Technically FAR Superior Racing Bike as compared to a 1973 CR 250M (IE) the 1979 VS the 73' CR 250 M... this 1979 has TWO to nearly THREE TIMES the Front AND Rear Suspension Travel (with Vastly Superior Front Forks + Longer Travel Dual rear Shock Struts) & even MORE Useable Horsepower ! ! ! Yet, I believe She is Still a Vintage Race-able air cooled engine & Dual rear Shock Suspension ! l *Again, This AMAZING Great Running Bike is a Dream with her AMAZING Balance & She Feels Very Light, Natural & Extremely AGILE ..This is a Vintage " WORLD CLASS" Dirt Racing Motorcycle ! As you see, she has a more 1973 style Custom Made Down Pipe & a more 1973 style Vintage Silencer. She also has a more 1973 Elsinore style Front Fender & Mud Flap. (I still have the Honda 1979 up pipe for this bike & stock 79' front fender if you want it ) The seat is a BRAND NEW Professionally re-upholstered & slightly customized to look nearly Exactly like a 1973 CR 250M Seat. I purchased a Brand New 6 Piece engine seal kit & We just now installed the "Brand New transmission Output Seal" I will include all seals FREE to the new owner. We also rebuilt what looks to be the Original "HUGE" 1979 CR 250 Carburetor, & Cleaned the Entire Fuel system & added a Quality Inline Fuel Filter & added a Brand New "UNI" sock style Air Cleaner,Also, the Prior owner Upgraded the rear wheel on this bike has been Upgraded to a Stronger RM rear wheel as they are to be stronger & overall are supposed to be more trouble free from what I hear etc etc. etc.The Front and rear suspension visually looked good & it's seals did not appear to be leaking at this time so other than to clean them & We Polished the lower Alloy fork legs etc etc (IE) as far as fluid levels etc. they are just as we received them and we have not tested the suspension as we are just now completing the visual restoration & conversion on this Beautiful Bike, Other than this...In Her Cosmetic restoration process..We took & disassembled most everything else on the bike...nearly all the way down to the "Bare Frame" + Cleaned & refinished most everything then hand reassembled ~everything back onto her frame piece by piece.. She has an Original 1973 METAL (not Plastic) mt 1973 or 74 "ELSINORE" Fuel tank that was painted Aluminum & Green Racing Colors to look a lot more like a 1973 & 74 ELSINORE CR 250 M. We also cleaned, painted & refinished the; Frame, Hubs, Spokes, had a Custom Down Pipe Tuned Exhaust system, 1973 More ELSINORE style Front fender with 73 ELSINORE style Mud Flap & her Original rear fender etc.we all painted to a look lot more like a 1973-74 ELSINORE CR 250 M If you are a serious buyer. Please email me for some of the "BUILD IT" Pictures... As you can see We also added a Complete 1973 HONDA "ELSINORE" CR250M Graphics / Logo Decal kit. We installed Brand New Rear Tire & a Brand New Tube &, Brand New Vintage style rubber handlebar Hand Grips. She has almost Brand New Updated Condition Rubber Fork Tube Boots, She has "BRAND NEW" Upgraded & Updated Vintage style Alloy MX handlebars & also I believe, Upgraded clutch & front brake levers have also been updated along the way. The kick starter Lever seems to work well & looks like she may have been repaired a little along the way but again she is functional at this time Also,PLEASE NOTE: She has a Brand New "D.I.D." Drive Chain & "UNI" Upgraded Foam Filter Sock Element. PLEASE NOTE: We are just completing her Brand New December 27th 2013 cosmetic Restoration/1973-74 Conversion Tribute (as detailed above etc)...& "YOU" can be the Very First Owner of this Beautiful Bike since this was completed ! If you live inside California If you race Vintage Bike Meets on Privite Moto Cross Tracks or (Vintage Bike Shows etc) the Notarized Calif DMV "Bill of Sale" is all you will need. If you want to go trail ridding on California etc Government National Forest land etc land & feel you a may want a National Forest etc DMV "Green Sticker" My Vehicle Registration Office said that because this bike had been in covered storage for many years (nearly the last decade) this bikes prior owner has many years ago ~2005 put this bike on PNO ("Permanent Non Operation") status before prior to our purchasing this, therefore if you live here in California & feel for some reason you want or feel you need a California Forestry Land Green sticker (to ride in Government Forest etc land) it would be about 2 hundred to get the Green sticker. I would try & get several shipping quotes before you commit or finalize a deal with a shipper as one of the last bikes I sold out of our collection went to North Carolina via USHIP.COM, (which is about 3,000 miles from here)...it was a 1975 YAMAHA 250 Enduro which weights about double of what this auctions Magnificent Vintage CR Honda Racing Beauty Weights & he was only charged about 350 dollars a few months ago...I would go thru Uship.com ...Keep in mind, I live very close to Los Angeles & the LA Harbor areas & Millions of Trucks leave this area every day all you need to do is find a truck that has a little space & that is headed in your direction & I am sure the price would be a lot better for you. Also, I started the bike again today for the first time since we took her down for the restoration & she started on the second Kick !!!!!!!!!!!!! She also Idled down Very Nicely & Ran like a Top (She Ran AMAZINGLY GREAT !!!!) as mentioned earlier in the auction the kick starter seems to work OK but it looks like it has had some kind of a minor repair or may have been adapted from another similar bike??..The main thing is " it works", & is Very Capable to Start the bike & seems to look fairly Normal for this bike. Again, If you need a shipper I would get Lots of Quotes (I have always had Great Luck with USHIP.COM as the rates will vary widely (IE) as a trucker that is already here in Los Angeles Area & is already planning on going your direction will be a lot different rate than someone that is not already here & is not going in your direction...Also, please remind the company you are getting the quote from that "This bike ONLY weights about 200 Pounds" (It is Not a "HUGE" 700 pound Harley etc) So the Shipping rate should be far cheaper & Should reflect that difference.
