1951 International Harvester L 130 Barn Find Project that got dismantled and put on the back burner; just out of long term dry storage. Truck is no less than 90% complete. Sheet metal and running boards recently tacked back on. Rare factory built commercial? step-side dually pickup truck w/10' bed. Inline 90 HP 6 cylinder with 59,075 actual miles. Build tag shows Maximum Gross Vehicle Weight 7700#. Recent new 6 volt battery, ignition coil, oil and filter change. Engine was started 12/2013 on gravity feed fuel can and runs on all 6 cylinders. Transmission shifts through the gears OK on no load bench test. Driveline and 3 speed column shift linkage mostly complete but needs repairs, reinstallation. Needs a driver's seat, exhaust, generator, voltage regulator, fuel/brake lines, radiator hoses, other minor mechanical repairs, wiring, etc. to get back to operating condition. Fenders, grille, bed floor & running boards have more than their fair share of rust. Any competent mechanic with a little bit of patience should be able to get this truck back in the field (why bust up your newer $40,000+ pickup truck when you can have a classic that's already broke in?) within about one long weekend. This truck would also make a great head turner, one of a kind rat rod, or break out your MIG and make it the project of a lifetime by restoring it to OEM condition. The International Harvester L Series Trucks were introduced by International Harvester in fall 1949 as the replacement for the KB-Series and ran the gamut from light pickup trucks and delivery vehicles to full size tractor trailers. International would continue to produce the line until 1952 when it was replaced by the R Series.
