Vehicle Detail

Runs and drives. Originally from Arizona. Last major trip was from Long Beach, CA to Lake Havasu City, AZ in 2007. Although tires have excellent tread, they are aged. This is an early production 1964 MY Electra. Therefore it does have the 401 and not the late production 425, it has buckets but not the late production consolette (as Buick named it). It was ordered to be as "clean lined" in the interior as possible, therefore there are power vent windows but not the auto-dimming headlamps. The legacy is that it was a dealer's wife's car, special ordered for her. Odometer is not working. Engine is strong, and numbers matching: transmission is a Turbo-hydramatic, but possibly not original to the car. Overabundance of off-the-line acceleration. Brakes work good, suspension works good with newer shocks. Power Brake Booster is newer. The convertible top works, but needs a complete new top cover, and pads installed. Power Windows were being re-lubricated and their motors overhauled when the shop closed and this Buick had to be moved. Those repairs are incomplete and the interior trims are not in place. Interior has been reupholstered and is not original. Almost $1000 in parts from various vendors was ordered: Carpet, foam, trim, weatherstripping, paints, POR-15, etc, but have not been installed. Those will be provided with the sale. Many repair parts for the HVAC controls, spare parts, spare dash pad, are also to be supplied with the car. Front Bumper is bent, but will be included. This is an excellent restoration candidate, or there are a treasure trove of rare parts for those so inclined to dismantle this Buick. As an Arizona car, rust is minimal, good chrome. On Dec-11-13 at 15:53:25 PST, seller added the following information: Also has Power Trunk (works), Power Vent Windows, Power Antenna (works), AM signal-seeking radio with foot button, Cornering Lamps, No remote mirrors (for clean style door panels) but it has dual manual mirrors. It has the deluxe lower dash pad. No tissue dispenser. Power top dash switch works (delicate switch - usually broken on this year Buick). On Dec-14-13 at 16:41:30 PST, seller added the following information: Added two new photos: engine compartment, and data plate. I have invested $$$ in this Buick (about $11K, including $7K purchase amount in 2005.). Carb overhaul, driveshaft overhaul, reproduction fan shroud, transmission mount, water control valve, and the boxes and boxes of new parts that I mentioned earlier. Reserve has been lowered.
