Vehicle Detail
This 4-door 1961 Chevy Impala is in great shape! Any bodywork necessary is purely cosmetic. Over the years I've had it, I've put some great parts into it in addition to what was already there when I got it, like a small block 350. I've been taking care of and restoring this baby and managed to turn it into a monster that runs great now, turn key and is totally a daily driver. Engine specs: shorty headers, Weiand intake manifold, hp cam, Edelbrock 750 4 barrel carb, Edelbrock high rise air cleaner, edelbrock valve covers, and HEI ignition - tuned for 87 octane. It moves very well on the highway or the drag strip. In addition to all that good stuff, I installed a new fuel pump, had the exhaust overhauled to true dual, side pipes with rectangular tips - Flowmaster- for that deep rumble. I replaced the alternator as well as ALL of the suspension, which means ALL NEW HD coil springs, shocks, sway bar and tie rod mounts/ends...all of it, for a smooth ride and easy cruising. It has leak-free power steering along with upgraded front wheels to disc brakes, high performance rotors, power assisted - dual cylinder master - the front is all S/S brake lines. The rear brakes have been examined and the rear line replaced. The transmission is 100%, including the B+M Power shifter. The lights, turn signals, and windshield wipers are all totally functional and reliable so it really is road ready. The doors even open and shut easily and the tires have decent tread so you're ready to roll. So, since all the hard work has been done, it wouldn't take you long or a lot of cash to turn it into a show car (especially considering the increasing rarity of intact Impalas out there) or a wicked daily driver by doing the cosmetic work on the body and the interior. Sheerly because of the price of the accumulated parts and labor put into this, it's worth it's asking price.
