Up for sale is this beautiful 1981 CX500 Custom. It has 8,685 miles on the clock and a very strong motor and drivetrain. Newer tires with lots of life left. New front master cylinder and braided stainless brake line. New battery (1 month old). Rebuilt front caliper. This bike runs and rides great! Good throttle response, plenty of power (even for a 500cc), and looks stunning! Very few minor blemishes. Small ding on tank, few light scratches near the seat, and the chrome could use some polish. The only mechanical fault I am aware of is the charging system. You can ride the bike for a few hours, and the battery will eventually go flat. The motor will still run and it is rideable, but the battery will not turn the motor over. I replaced the battery but the problem remains. I am not sure of which component is causing this, but the fact that it runs and rides perfect after it's been started makes me think that the bike is making enough voltage? I bought this for my wife, but she has not touched it. Just kind of lost interest. Now i need it out of my way for the winter!Happy bidding!
