Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This example is a nicely restored Bonneville. It’s a matching numbers bike It starts first kick, has electronic ignition and new paint, including frame. There are too many incorrect bits for it to win shows, but it is a very strong runner and really turns heads. The bike was last registered in California, and has an incomplete registration with California. If the bike stays in California, we should work out a deal where I complete registration and pay the taxes. Out of state buyers shouldn’t have an issue. The motorcycle is at Piston & Chain in San Francisco. – I’m a co-owner of the club/shop. About the bike: I Had Jamie Karrick look over the bike and we found that the headlight is nice and correct for the bike. The tachometer has been rebuilt probably back Palo Alto speedo. They used a new bezel am not sure about the rest of it. The needles been repainted / refinished so the majority that is probably original. The electrics are covered in plastic protectors with ties throughout. The pipes look like they may actually be original to the bike just maybe re-plated. I'm not certain about that but my hunch I just from this. Motor feels nice and strong fires up first kick. The valve inspection covers are nice long extended ones with cooling fins on them - a nice improvement. The carburetors could be replacement new carburetors but I'm not certain. It has air cleaners air filters on it but the not sure those are original this year. The 1966 bikes had various air filter configurations. The finish is pretty nice throughout. There’s a chip in the paint on the tank (pictured). Pipes look nice and clean. The rear shocks are missing their shrouds. There should be a black cover on the bottom shroud with a chrome shelled covers over that, but some people like the look without them and that maybe what's going on here. The seat might be a reproduction - not sure about that. There is an electronic ignition system by Boyer installed. Never have to worry about points and this thing fires up first kick. The fuel lines been replaced with a good solid fuel hoses unfortunately they're not clear but the clear fuel hoses don't stand up to the California gas. There is a little bit of over chrome going on - the rear brake plate is chromed, the chain adjusters are chromed. The rubber kneepads are doing okay but not perfect. The badges have been repainted it's a little bit brighter white and I'd like to see it be more of a cream color The steering damper is a little funky because the steering stop posts are missing. The Vin number on the frame is notoriously hard to read but that is typical of Bonnevilles.83 Miles since rebuild. I cannot verify original miles.1-kick video:
