Super Low-Mileage 1979 VOLKSWAGEN "KARMANN EDITION" CLASSIC BEETLE CONVERTIBLE. 36, 507 Actual Miles, Southern California car it's whole life, wearing it's original Blue and Gold 1970s California License plates (come with the car). Runs, Drives, Stops, Tracks and Steers PERFECTLY. Totally dependable, and gets great gas mileage! IF : this car had been garaged it's whole life, it would be a pristine Museum-Quality, unrestored Bug. HOWEVER, it sat out in the SoCal sun for a decent portion of the last decade. As a result, some of the rubber parts are dried : Rear window gasket, (which I just ordered and will install), and the rubber inserts on the bumpers. The interior and the top (and Tonneau Cover) are in VERY good condition overall, with no splits or cuts, and the vinyl on the seats is still soft and nice. Interior is missing one window crank, and a couple knobs here and there. Nothing major. Could use a couple new speakers, and perhaps a new stereo, as the REALISTIC am/fm/cassette is pretty dated. Dash pad is cracked, so it wears an aftermarket cover. The paint is good overall, but has a couple chips with some surface rust in them, and a couple spots where the clear-coat is flaking. The frame and floor pans are rock solid, and the car has no dents or damage. The glass is all good, and the windows operate smoothly. The AC unit is disconnected, but spins. The Transmission and clutch are smooth and nice, the tires are new, and the car starts right up every time. It steers and stops just right. This 1979 KARMANN Convertible can be driven As-Is, or will make an easy and fun restoration project for the next owner. I have tried to describe it as accurately as possible. Overall, it is a VERY Solid SoCal Classic Convertible, and Runs/Drives EXCELLENTLY, but does need a few minor cosmetics to be a "Show-n-Go" type of car. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the U.S., just the way it is. It is that solid, and runs that well. This Bug has the Original Owner's Manual, a clean California Title, and is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end this listing at any time.
