1966 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE MALIBU CONVERTIBLE PROJECT CAR WITH CLEAR TITLE. (not SS – not Super Sport) I have owned this car since 2001 and it has been stored in my garage. Life and lack of $$$ has continued to prevent completion so I am now selling. This Chevelle was originally equipped with a 235 I6 engine, 3 speed manual transmission, Lemonwood Yellow exterior, black interior and convertible top. The body has been stripped to bare metal, so no mysteries of what is under the paint. The floor pans and trunk pans needed replacement (all included) as the previous owner attempted with crude patches using heavy gauge sheet metal. When I began this project I realized there was significant rust on the frame. The body was removed from the frame revealing heavy rust that was beyond repair. It now has a beautiful new frame from a 66 El Camino shortened 2 3/8" which is the same as the convertible (see photo before paint). The part numbers on the rear of the frame are even stamped with the same number. The frame, suspension components and axle were then blasted and coated with POR15. As in photo, supports were added (pipe at door area) and under lower rocker panel to prevent flex when replacing. The following are ALL NEW replaced within the past 3 years: Upper and lower ball joints, frame to A frame alignment shafts, upper and lower A frame bushings, all control arm-suspension bolts, inner and outer tie rods, center link, power steering pitman arm, power steering pump, idler arm, steering gearbox, all rear control arm bushings, rear axle bearings and seals, pinion seal, rear drums, rear brake shoes, rear brake spring kits, rear brake lines, all brake rubber flex lines (two in front and one in rear), master cylinder, front disc brake conversion (from drum)- new calipers, rotors, wheel bearings and seals. New alternator (non-internal voltage regulator). Included: New key lock set including ignition and glove box door. New full rear fender quarter panels (from rear of door back to bumper), full floor pans (passenger not shown in photo), new trunk pan set, new gas tank support kit. All glass is good (except windshield), disassembled 350 2 bolt main with standard (non-vortec) heads, aluminum air cleaner with K&N filter, 2 sets of valve covers (tall and short), oil pan, new harmonic balancer, drive shaft, 3 speed Saginaw transmission, flywheel, all clutch linkage and Chevrolet 12 bolt rear axle with non-posi gears. Also additional sets of bumper mounts, A frames, 2 driver’s side door (fair condition), 2 passenger side doors (fair condition), extra trunk lid, wiring harness, 2 front and rear bumpers (not perfect), inner wheel wells. Both convertible shocks are included, but no convertible top motor or button. All trim is there with some duplicates, in decent condition. Some will need replacement for restoration. Custom made inner rocker panel replacements. Trim is carefully boxed to prevent damage. There are many duplicate parts as I previously had a 4 door parts car. Not included: No front seats (but bench seat tracks included), no windshield, no convertible top motor or activator button. Needs under floor braces. Needs interior upholstery kit. Payment: $300 PayPal, cash or money order required within 48 hours of the end of the auction. I will send an invoice. Final payment to be made in cash, money order or cashiers check. Payment must clear-collected before picking up or receipt of title. Shipment: I will assist in loading on the weekend only. This must be loaded onto a trailer. I would recommend bringing a friend with another truck for all the parts if you are not local and don’t want to make multiple trips.
