Up for auction we have a 1999 BMW 740i , this car is a great color combination, dark BMW blue with tan leather . This car was a donation to the charity Kids for Causes . What I can tell you about the car is as follows , these are my observations having not owned the car I do not know the full history , what we do no is as follows , it does have a clean carfax , I have personally driven the car , it runs and drives , shifts smoothly through all gears , the engine is very quiet and silky smooth which indicates that it has been well maintained , it does not have any rattles etc which can be signs of wear common on these BMW 4L V8s . These engines are designed to do very high mileages and I think this car will be able to drive for a long time to come , the brake light is on , on the dashboard and the pixels are sometimes hard to see , you can buy a pixel kit for $25 on ebay if you want , you can currently still read the display so I would not worry . The body does have some scratches as pictured , it is not perfect but is straight and I think if you wax it with a blue wax it will hide a lot of them , that being said it does not detract from the overall appearance of the car in my opinion . It does have the BMW 18inch M series rims and the spare is also an M series rim , the trunk is clean and the engine compartment we had cleaned to check for any leaks which there do not appear to be any . The interior leather is in above average condition , showing very little signs of wear , the back seats looks like the have hardly ever been sat in . I think you will be very impressed with the overall condition of the interior and you would think you were sitting in a 5 year old BMW . Things that I did pick up on , the brake light stays on , I think you may need a set of brake pads in the future , the engine service light has come on , I think this means it has had the oil changed where they were not able to reset it . I do believe it is going to need a right front ball joint or it could be a bushing , does knock when you go over a bump . The brake handle release needs to be replaced and I was not sure if this was the reason for the brake light being on , they have a screw in it so it remains operable . Again to recap , this is a donated car , I have done my best to describe it , if you need anymore information please feel free to e-mail me any questions you may have perhaps you want me to look at something specific for you , I have tried to list everything I can think of , If I have missed something sorry it is not intentional and this is why we ask you to e-mail with questions you may have , this is a great running driving car that needs a few odds and ends priced to sell for less than the price of the engine alone . We do charge a $150 Document fee , this is used for the detail of the vehicle , title work and most importantly we cane give you a 30 day temp tag so the car can be driven , As we are a registered dealer we cannot sell this vehicle to a Maryland resident so please if you are do not bid sorry .
