Vehicle Detail
If you follow my auctions you know I sell used ATV's on eBay and have been doing it for over 13 years. I bought this truck new in 2004 and thought it would be great to have all the warranties and the feeling of safety that this truck would provide (this was the safest truck built according to Consumer Reports) Well, after driving the first 3,000 miles and being paranoid of putting the the first scratch in it I left it in the garage and continued to use my "work trucks". This truck was used to pull the boat to the lake or ATV's out riding. I used it last year to go ride the Nevada 200 on my KTM and then Cheri and I used it to go to Glacier National Park in Montana this summer. (It averaged 16.2 with a high of 19.4!) It has been pampered and even though the factory recommends oil changes at extended intervals I had it changed (by the dealer I bought it from) at 1,000 miles and then every 3,000 thereafter. At 20,000 I had a additive called Energy Release put in all the gearcases and engine. (amazing stuff-go to energyrelease.com ) I had spark plugs replaced at 60,000 miles even though it is recommended at 100k. The engine is the gas 3 valve 5.4 upgrade with 300 hp and 365 ft lb of torque. Diesel figures of just a few years ago and it has tons of power. The wheels I purchased and are 20" (my nephew calls them twinkies??) with new Michelin tires that set me back about $365 each for the tires and wheels. They have 8000 miles on them. Leather seats-power on the drivers side. I special ordered this truck with the transfer case shifter on the floor (no electronic gizmos for me) and 6900 lb gvwr and the tow package. Just the way you would want a truck if you want it to last forever. This is the standard cab that actually has a extension behind the front seats that allow you to carry tents, sleeping bags or other gear and the back doors open just like the extended cab (this is a version you can no longer get) Exactly what I wanted-plus it is a long bed so has considerably better ride and a lot more carrying capacity plus you can close the tailgate with your motorcycle in the back. The length is now an issue since the garage on the house that I bought is slightly smaller than my truck. I can go in at an angle but then the Porsche sets outside. My only real option is to list this truck for sale and buy another new truck (which is incredibly fun since I will get to order another one exactly the way I want) Someone is going to get an INCREDIBLE truck for half of what I have in it. That is the way I figured the buy it now price and I am happy to sell it for that or I will let the auction run and sell it to the highest bidder. I have learned on the ATV sales that is a gamble for both of us. The really nice stuff will a lot of times sell for MORE than my buy it now price. I cannot imagine someone taking care of a pickup as well as I have this one. It has one very light scuff on the topside of the tailgate from one of my tie down straps getting dragged over the top. I did not want any paint work on this since it never matches and fades at a different rate than the original. You can barely see the scuff anyway. This truck is exceptional.
