Vehicle Detail
Here is a very special Triumph , Built in January 1980 this car was a great example of a solid TR7, The engine was replaced with Woody's (The Wedge Shop) original 5 Litre. the 300 CID was acomplished by boring and stroking using the 1964 Buick 300 crank. The heads are also from the Buick 300, with 10.5 compression. The Rover 215 was stretched to 300 cubic inches. It has the Harcourt racing intake manifold. Holly 600 CFM. The Wedge Shop's big bore headers.Ignition is a Hy- Fire crank triggered, Mated to a 5 speed manual transmission, it was run on the rolling dyno about 3 years ago. It made 240 HP @ 5200 RPM. That's at the wheels so it equates to about 290 HP @ flywheel. I don't think the car weights more than 2400 lbs. so with the 3.27 rear-end it still accelerates pretty good. I know Woody used to run 13 second quarter miles at 108 mph with this engine in his TR8 coupe which was 100 lbs heavier. The rear-end is a 3.27 Camaro IROC with limited slip. The wheels are 15" HRE 3 piece rims with New 205/50/15 Tires Front & 225/50/15 Rear. Brakes are Wilwood Superlite II's on front and Wilwood Dynolite II's on back, Vented rotors front & rear and adjustable bias valve, Hand brake has been removed to accommodate the large rear brakes. Cooling system has just been overhauled with New water pump, Rad caps and wizard cooling large capacity aluminum radiator, with 14" Maradyne electric fan. The Triumph was fitted with Air Conditioning, but has not been completely reinstalled since the engine conversion, all the electrics heater box and most hose's are there, but would require a compressor and condenser installing to make it work again. The interior is finished in black, Seats and carpet are in good shape, with no rips or tears, Grant Sports steering wheel and Nardi Black leather shifter, Convertible top is mohair in good condition, but has a stain on it , see pictures. Car had a complete strip down & repaint around 18 months back, finished in its original white, body was in great shape to begin with but original paint had gone dull, frame, Floors and trunk floor are great with no rot or rust. Suspension is KYB Shocks lowered springs, but the car would benefit from a good suspension set up, Steering is also standard none power. Only issue's i can think of are some minor electric problems, The fuel & tach gauge is not working, Wipers work when they feel like working, i am sure these are just bad connections some where and should be easy to figure out. I can supply more pictures on request. Thanks for looking and please only bid if you intend to buy, i can help with shipping at your cost if required. Thanks !!
