A well-sorted 1987 944 S..... The 944 S was only made for 2 years from 1987-1988 and distinguishes itself from other 944 NAs with double the valves (16 for the S vs 8 for the NA) and as a result, there was a significant increase in horsepower and torque for the S. I purchased this 944S last year and got mechanicals sorted out. In addition, I had some tasteful modifications done that increased the car's power and drive-ability. Here are fixes and improvements that has made this car a tight Porsche! - Gas struts and turn signal switch - AC compressor and expansion valve - Windshield reservoir and pump - K&N air filter, Dynomax VT muffler and Magnaflow exhaust tip - Engine computer and Lindsey performance chip - Belts, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor - Valve cover gasket and balance shaft - Clutch - New set of Continental tires The paint is good and has a few stone chips/blemishes normal for a car of this age. There is a crack on the dash cover which seems to be fairly common among 944 cars of this era. The seats have minor cracks and the driver's side bolster has a split. There are no issues with the running of this car and would make a great driver for anyone interested in the 944 series.
