Vehicle Detail
1987 BMW 635 CSi - I bought this E24 from southern Indiana in June and spent a lot of time and money putting her back to spec. After driving her for a few weeks I've come to the conclusion that a 2-door coupe does not fit my lifestyle and I need something with more room. It's a shame because this car is in excellent shape and drives wonderfully. Over the last few months I have put a lot of time and money into her. Here is the list of everything done: > Steering rebuild -2 new tie rod assemblies, center link, and alignment. > Replaced transmission fluid > Flushed cooling system and replaced anti-freeze > 5 new tires and wheels (including spare). The car came with a set of Michelin TRX tires so I upgraded the wheels and tires. > Set of re-manufactured fuel injectors > Oil change + filter > New brake pressure accumulator and flushed power steering system > New intake boot > New spark plugs (Bosch Silver - BMW recommended for the M30) and wires > Two new rear wheel bearings and two new (not re-manufactured) axle-shafts > Replaced all vacuum hoses > Replaced driveshaft with a rebuilt unit > Replaced transmission mounts and flex disc > Replaced fuel filter > Replaced odometer gears > Front end rebuild - 2 new shocks, 2 new upper & lower control arms, 2 new sway bar links, 2 new strut mounts > Replaced differential and new differential mount > New heater blower fan > New catalytic converter The car is in very good condition and drives great. I would have no hesitation to jump in the car and drive cross-country tomorrow. I have spared no expense to bring this car back to her original glory. The heat and AC work, I put in a new radio, and all the windows/locks/sunroof work as expected. The seats were replaced with a newer set and are extremely comfortable on long drives (the driver's seat has adjustable lumbar support). This car is not my daily driver and is garage-kept. There are really only two issues with the car: during warm-up, the engine runs rough for a few minutes but clears up when the temp gauge gets out of the blue range. This car has the rear AC unit and it stopped working a few weeks back. It did start working again this week but I didn't do anything to fix it, so I'm going to be safe and say the rear AC is not working. The front AC blows cold and has no issues. Included are many spare parts and a Bentley Repair manual. This vehicle is sold as-is.
