Sometime in the mid 1980's this car was shipped from California to a volvo dealer in MA Where a total of over $25000 was spent upgrading the car to then modern running gear To include a B20 engine, bored out to 2.2 liters mated to a large valve cylinder head. Ported and polished with twin 40 Webber DCOE's. High performance cam shaft, the whole assembly was balanced and mated to a 4 speed transmission with electric overdrive. 1800 ES rear end with disc brakes. Performance suspension lowered with some polyurethane bushings. Heavy duty springs , shocks sway bar etc... Beautiful period wheels, leather seats, came out of 760 Volvo, upgraded Blau punkt radio with a booster amp, louvered hood, remote trunk release. Car sat on the dealer showroom floor as a period show piece until it was moved on. The car is a perfect candidate for the rally targa New Foundland Or any other vintage/ rally events. The car has not been on the road since 1997, so should be gone through. Starts, runs, and drives good. The car comes with a spare front and rear windshield. The right front floor panel is thin, due to a windshield leak. But the frame leg and outrigger are perfect. The only outside visible rust is shown in the photo of the right rear.
