This Subaru Outback had a knock in the engine so I purchased a 2.2 engine that came out of an Impreza. I had read online that the 2.2 engine would bolt right in place and replace the 2.5. I found that the exhaust manifold is different and also there is an electrical thing on the intake that is different. I purchased the exhaust pieces but do not know what to do about the electric thing. I also have the engine that was removed from the car and had it sold on ebay but the buyer never has responded about picking it up. I will also send it with the winning bidder. This would be good for someone who could repair the 2.5 engine that had just had the heads rebuilt before it overheated due to a metal tube not being tightened on the back of the engine. The 2.2 engine is still in the car also if someone knows how to finish installing it with the electric thing on the intake or they could sell that and make some of their money back.
