Vehicle Detail
Hi, up for sale is my 68 El Camino project car. This car has a 327 large journal engine, factory four speed transmission, and a 12 bolt posi rear end. The engine has been rebuilt. It has forged pistons, has been balanced, and has a mild cam. It has camel hump heads, GM hei distributor, and a holly 650 double pumper. The transmission is a factory four speed with a saginaw transmission. The rear end is a 12 bolt with positive traction My mother bought the car new in 68, gave it to me a few years back, which makes me the second registered owner. It has a clear title. The car was in the California central valley it's whole life, so it does not have big rust issues like car that have been in the snow and salt. The car has stock running gear and has not been modified. The odometer shows 29,693. It has rolled over once for sure, and very possible that it has rolled over twice. The car does not run. The last time it was ran was in 1997. The car was parked in 97 due to the reverse gear being broke. The transmission still worked but it was noisy. The reverse gear is missing a few teeth along with the cluster shaft which also made it noisy in forward. The engine was rebuilt and had about 5000mi on it before the trans broke. The car was parked in 97 and the fuel was siphoned out of the tank and that was it. It will need to have the fuel system cleaned and what ever else it will need for a car that has been sitting 16 years. The brake pedal also went to the floor when I pulled it out to clean it up. The brake system will need to be gone through. It was stored in a garage. The car was stripped down and was painted. The paint started checking on the rear quarter panels do to a bad prep job. I took the car back for warranty on the paint but the body shop went out of business. There is also some chips along the door frames. The trim and parts that I have for the car are in the bed. Some of the chrome may be missing, some may be duplicates. I have most of the chrome for the front clip, which is new in box GM parts. There is also a new tailgate skin, spare bumper and the other stuff that is in the pictures. There is a little rust on the passenger side floor pan and the pan behind the seat. I think it would be very easy to repair. I also have the factory owners manual. Payment must be received within 3 days of auction ending. I will only except a wire transfer to my bank account for payment. The buyer is responsible for all moving, hauling, and shipping costs. I will assist loading the car at it's present location.
