This is a very solid scout. I have done a lot of work to it recently and it is very reliable. The original paint is well worn but shows that the tub has very little rust. It does have some dings and dents but overall the body is pretty straight. The front of the floor pans and front quarters are the only areas with rust and they are fairly minor. The body mounts, rockers, bed floor, etc.are in beautiful condition. The hardtop does have a fair bit of surface rust but is still in solid shape and looks worse than it really is. The seats are in good shape but are not original to this Scout. It has a 304 v8, 727 automatic, Dana 20 and 3.07 geared Dana 44 axles. Since July we have made several road trips, from N. Georgia to Colorado, N. Georgia to Ohio and Birmingham AL and back. It has proven to be a very reliable cruiser. You can obviously drive this scout just like it sits or it is a perfect candidate for a true restoration. Below is a quick list of the recent work. I have a GA title in hand. *clean, inspected fuel tank, added drain plug and new sending unit *new fuel pump, new rubber fuel lines, new steel lines and filter *newish Holley 2300 *new pertronix ignition *new plugs,cap, rotor, coil and wires *new belts, heater hoses and vacuum lines *transmission flushed, bands, line pressure, and kick down adjusted. Fresh fluid and filter. drain plug added to pan. *coolant system flushed and radiator checked *new brakes pads and shoes with hardware kits *new brake master cylinder and all brake hoses replaced *good used brake booster installed *power steering flushed and lower pressure hose replaced *rear axle bearings inspected and repacked. *Front axle cut and turned with positive caster added. *front wheel bearings and spindle bearings repacked and new wheel seals added *good used drag link installed *New poly spring bushings * new front u-bolts *drive shafts u-joints all freshly greased *good used single exhaust system installed * insulated hard top with headliner *New front shackles with factory sway bar installed *new 30x9.50 tires with factory wheels and hub caps
