Here we have a very rare and fairly straight Suzuki T500 Cobra. Please read this listing carefully and look closely at the photos. First of all the engine and frame numbers do not match. Frame number is T500-12259 and the engine number is T500-66350. The engine had a recent top end and was running great and then froze with a suspected main bearing problem. It is still locked up. I was told that the carbs are original to the Cobra. It is missing the air box and was running the pod air filters as shown in the pictures. The tank has a small dent on the left side at the front of the tank panel. ( miraculously appeared while on display at Mid Ohio Vintage days). The lower left front fender stay needs to be corrected, it was repaired but still too long. But wait!! Thats about it for the bad stuff. Overall the bike is very complete and straight. It has the correct fenders in very good shape. The wheels are nearly rust free and straight.It still has the original gauges. Other than the dent in the tank, the body panels are super straight. It has the original seat cover that is in good shape other than a small place at the back below the Suzuki lettering. The seat pan is solid. The tank panels were covered in mylar film, but are chrome underneath. I have a couple of extra parts that will go with the bike, an engine seal kit and fork boots. The bike was originally painted the orangish gold color. Get this baby running, do a little cosmetic work and you'll have a very cool bike.
