UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL 1969 CHEVY CORVETTE ROADSTER ! RALLY RED / RESTORED HARD TOP OPTION! 350 FOUR SPEED / 2 OWNER! FUN TO DRIVE / STRONG RUNNER!!! 1969 was a defining year for the Chevy Corvette! There were several changes made from the previous controversial models year when the C3 shark exploded on the seen & shocked the sports car world. Many believe that 1969 is the best year for the C3 model. This particular Corvette is absolutely gorgeous, very dependable & extremely fun to drive! This one has not been abused nor has it passed through many hands. There has actually only been two previous owners. The vehicle was pampered by both! The original owner kept this sports car in his possession until 2004 when he decided to relinquish ownership. Although he was sad to see it go {according to the second owner} life’s circumstances forced his hand. At any rate the second owner enjoyed the car immensely although he wasn’t fortunate enough to have it in his possession as long as the first owner. He was not particularly happy to see it go either. When I came across it she was tucked away in a heated garage with the other Corvettes in his collection. He recounted times when he and his son would take the car out to cruise inns & road trips before he went to college. Although he spoke in terms of endearment as if the car was a third child he wanted it to go to a good home. HISTORY: This beauty originally left the St. Louis Corvette plant covered in {983 code Fathom Green} paint. The old lacquer paint scheme was still fighting for its life a year ago however, it had seen better days. In 2012 a decision was made that a color change was needed. The car was subsequently stripped and painted Rally Red! The work performed & the paint applied must be seen to truly be appreciated! Everyone seems to believe the color change was a grand idea. To see the car in person is to LOVE it! From stop light to stop light & corner to corner admirers always make their presence known! A short time ago this beauty took 2nd place at the Fairview Heights Corvette cruise inn {in the C-3 Class}! The exterior shines wonderfully & the cars finish is smooth to the touch. The paint job is certainly show quality! You can hold your head high when either parking this beauty in the garage or at your local car show! There weren’t any short cuts taken when the decision was made to restore this vintage roadster. All of the bright work has been addressed on the car as well. Each piece of chrome & stainless trim maintains a showroom shine! The chrome bumpers were replaced {front & rear} with the best pieces on the market. Other chrome pieces replaced were the drivers mirror along with the emblems & embossed Corvette letters! All of the appointments stand tall against the Torch red exterior! This vintage vehicle looks like a million bucks whether sitting still or cruising down the freeway! LET’S LOOK INSIDE! In the quest to make this roadster just as beautiful inside as it is outside I replaced almost every stitch of the interior! To start after I removed the seats I had all of the carpet replaced front to rear! The upholstery shop took their time to that it would fit perfectly and present itself well. While the seats were out we had the old covers stripped & replaced with top shelf covers from Corvette America! The new seat covers really brought the old Corvettes interior back to life! A decision was made to add extra padding before the covers were install to increase comfort while driving! The doors inside this classic Chevy were in amazing condition so very little had to be done to them. I did however replace the door lock knobs some hardware and weather stripping. As you can expect once a restoration project is started you will always be able to find something else that needs to be done. This car is no exception. I replaced the windshield pillar weather stripping and upper pillar post weather strips as well. One of the interior components that didn’t need to be restored was this car flawless unmolested dash pad! The dash in the car isn’t sun faded, cracked or damaged in any way it is absolutely perfect! Upon opening the door you will find that the original door buzzer even still works {a true throw back}! The console cover looks incredible and the vinyl aprons are flawless! It’s hard to find cars like this one. The gauge cluster is crystal clear and the Speedo and rpm readings are still spot on. The factory radio looks awesome & map pockets are picture perfect! The complete interior is uniform and compliments the exterior quite well. CONVERTIBLE TOP: I don’t think that the importance of having a quality convertible top installed can be stressed enough when restoring a vintage Corvette roadster. That fact is evident when looking at this Corvettes soft top. I had a new high quality top installed several weeks ago along with the convertible top weather stripping! The soft top fits perfect and really gives this little red Corvette a show room appearance! Once again there were no short cuts taken as the tack strips were replaced also. History: This vehicle has spent all of its life in Mid West region. You will not have to worry about any rust issues with this Bow Tie! The frame, pillar post and bird cage of this vehicle are all rust free! Functions: I want to stress just how user friendly this particular Corvette is. The car almost has the road manners of a modern vehicle. That being said there’s no doubt when sitting behind the wheel of this car you’ll be taken back to 1969! Others on the street won’t allow you to forget! At any rate almost all of the cars original equipment performs the way it should. One of the most notorious headaches for C3 Corvette owners are the pop up head lights. I am happy to say that the new owner will not have to lose a wink of sleep over this issue because the head lights work perfectly! Just turn the knob and the headlights race into action. Even the signals and markers work as they should. Although I would like to give this one high watermarks in every category unfortunately there is one issue that is still being addressed. The wiper canister is currently being replaced. The factory one decided as of two days ago that it had enough after forty four years of operation. A new one is on the way. I am happy to report however, that this cars power windows are still in great working order! How nice it is to reach over towards the center console and get the relief that you need with just the push of a button. This Corvette is a sheer pleasure to own! STANDING THE TEST OF TIME! Let’s get to the heart of the matter! As almost everyone knows when a Corvette hits the street performance is automatically expected! This Corvette lives up to the legendary reputation that the brand has earned through the years. The car came from the factory with a 350 engine rated at 350 horse power. The motor that was in the car was replaced with a factory GM block with the exact same ratings years ago. The engine in the car now runs excellent! The car starts with ease and performs very well! Once inside you only have to simply tap the pedal a few times and turn the key to begin your amazing experience. The car is very dependable and it almost never seems to disappoint. The maintenance has been keep up on the car at a high level. Just recently we have even added a new battery, plugs, wires, alternator and too much more to list! You can feel free to take your wife out for a night on the town with confidence after she barks at you for buying it! The car has brand new raised white letter performance tires so handling is a breeze & the car has been aligned. The raised rubber looks great on this car & the classic 15 x 8 Rally wheels have been completely restored! The center caps & beauty rings were also replaced just a short time ago {looks incredible}! You will also be happy to find that the transmission in this Corvette is in perfect working order. The car shifts effortlessly and engages without any issues. This vintage vehicle is easy to operate. Exhaust hedders were installed to give this car a little more H.P. and freedom to breathe. The boost is certainly evident and appreciated while cruising! This classic American Sports Car must be seen & driven to truly be appreciated! All inspections are welcome. Finally as if this one couldn’t get any better……the car comes with the optional hard top! Although the hard top usually stays stored away in the garage it is a privilege to own. It also adds value and holds weight with purist, hobbyist and enthusiast! All & all if you’re looking for a great investment I think this car fits the bill. It is a fun car to own and an excellent investment! An investment that you can enjoy! It’s fun to be the envy of the neighborhood and talk of the family. As previously mentioned EVERYONE loves this car!
