I have owned my share of Motorcycles in my 47+ years and I'll say one thing, this 550 Four is one if the sweetest I have the pleasure to own. I purchased the bike from the original owner out of Southern Indiana eight plus years ago. The 550 spent her winter months in a heated basement and yes, that is the original mileage, 6067. I have roughly put 500+ miles on since taking ownership. The bike was a 9 out 0f 10 scale as far as the condition and originality when I received it off the hauler but I wanted to build a "period correct" café style motorcycle. I tried to use mid 70's after market parts when available and not build a "trailer queen." I ride this bike once a week and it's as dependable as you can get. I will provide free delivery if you live with in 60 miles of Fort Myers, Florida. Otherwise, you will have to provide shipping on your own. I will be happy to assist you in making arrangements for pick up in a timely manner. Please don't ask what the reserve price is, it defeats the purpose of having one. Besides, If you ask, I wont respond. Thank you for taking time to look at this classic and good luck bidding. The frame, rims and spokes are original and have not been reconditioned. All they needed was polish and elbow grease.The engine is bone stock. Average cylinder compression: 142 psi. Moto Werks GP Stainless exhaust that was custom made for me and jetted the carburetors accordingly. Polished stainless steel engine bolt kit.The ignition is from Power Arc featuring 2 new sealed, high output coils. This ignition provides 3 sparks per cycle at lower rpms. New secondary wires and NGK resistor caps.Carburetors were rebuilt with new floats and needle and seats, powder coated, bowls polished and synchronized. They breath through an original air box configuration. I only use non ethanol fuel from my local marina. The bike starts right up either by the kick starter or electric starter. Barnett clutch, steels and springs.1970's Polished-finned aluminum stator and ignition covers. I happened to stumble across these on eBay in their original packaging. O-ringed chain and new sprockets. Torozzi rear sets with folding foot pegs.YSS dual rate shocks.Steering head ball bearings replaced with tapered roller bearings.Powdered coated triple trees, headlight hangers and front fender.Steering dampener.New front brake pads.Front rotor drilled.Shinko tires & tubes.New battery.Electronic regulator. Moved location of regulator down just below left side cover to improve airflow for better cooling.Halicon stainless steel mirror.Gas tank was darn near spotless on the inside. Epoxy coated (red formula).NOS fuel tank cape and petcock.Paint and pin striping from long time family friend, Gary Bush owner of Scratch & Dent Body Repair. Two tone BMW silver with silver & red pin striping. Polished aluminum brake light/license plate fixture.
