Vehicle Detail
This TR250 was acquired last year from its owner of over 30 years. The owner parked it after just a short ownership, and stated that mileage of 34,655 is actual. There is no indication that it is not true mileage. I had intentions of restoring her, but really don't have the time, so it is available. At the time, I was looking for a no rust car that was all original. This is it except I did discover that while sitting in the barn, time and moisture from the dirt floor in the barn took its toll on the rear frame members that commonly rust on these cars where the trailing arms attach. I have purchased the original type replacement frame sections, that are about $200 each from suppliers. The rest of the frame looks fine and does not appear to have rust other than surface. I will sell the new frame sections to the winning bidder for half price if you decide you want to go that route instead of patching the area. I have looked closely at the body and found no other rust, except surface on the driver floor. All floors are solid, and inner and outer rockers appear solid as well. Note the pictures showing the car still has the original jute padding under the carpet, so it indicates dry storage for the entire life of the car, as this stuff deteriorates and is never still present in these old TR's! I doubt if you will ever see another more original, straight, low mileage TR250. Assume it will need a full restoration, and I have no knowledge of the mechanicals except that the former owner said it was running when parked. Bumpers are included and pictured. Rear passenger tire tube has a leak but holds air long enough to move the car or load it on a trailer. I want a $1000 deposit within 24 hours of auction end, by paypal or cashiers check, with the balance due in 10 days. I offer no warranty on this car, and encourage viewings, as a car this old is difficult to describe in every aspect. I cannot provide certification of the low mileage, but the former owner will attest to it emphatically, but I wont guarantee it. I have clear title in my name. I will answer any questions honestly, and have included pictures for your viewing of most areas, and can send you additional pics if you are serious. I can assist with meeting your shipper. Thanks for bidding. On Jul-24-13 at 11:33:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: For those of you who are requesting a buy now, I would prefer to let the auction run and sell to the high bidder. I have looked at specific areas for buyers and the car is rust-free everywhere on the body shell, having been protected from weather inside the barn. I did find a very small pinhole you can't see in pictures that I had overlooked at the top rear driver side quarter panel, but no other rust or bubbling of paint anywhere on the body shell inside or out, or under hood. All is exceptionally solid except for the small areas on the frame I already mentioned that could be patched. Rest of frame is solid. The car was a southern climate car originally brought to NC from Nashville, and it still has the registration sticker from the 70's on the windshield from Nashville. On Jul-27-13 at 13:08:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello and thanks for your interest. I have lowered the reserve to encourage bidding. For the overseas bidders, I do not handle shipping, but there is a company close to Atlanta, GA called Personal Export Service that can store the car and arrange shipping overseas. All you need to do is ship to them, and I do have a local shipper contact who travels to Atlanta if needed. These TR250's have reportedly been selling for $35K in Europe, and with all other classic cars appreciating rapidly to unaffordable ranges like the old Porsches, Healeys, etc, this rare example is a sure bet for investment at such a low reserve I have now set. Good luck and may the best man win!
