Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1993 F150 xlt lightning. This is basically stock with the correct 5.8L, 351w, with the GT40 heads and intake. Motor runs very good and has good oil pressure, doesn't smoke, tick or knock. Trans is the automatic overdrive used in the lightnings. I was told the trans was gone through and has a shift kit installed, I have the box with the rest of the shift kit stuff in it. It was a Transgo performance shift kit, has multiple spring set ups so you can change the firmness of the shifts. It shifts nice and firm at the moment, if you let it shift itself it will shift at about 3000 RPM and get rubber in the process, it shifts a little easier if you shift it manually. There is also a B&M finned aluminum trans pan on it that cools better and holds more trans fluid, those sell for 120 at summit racing. It has the stock aluminum drive shaft and there is a drive shaft loop installed. I was told the rear end was rebuilt and there is a eaton locker installed but I have not pulled it apart to verify that. There are the factory traction bars on the truck in addition to extra helper springs on the top of the leafs to prevent axle windup, with adjustable stabilizer bars as well. It has shorty headers and flowmaster mufflers on it and sounds nice. The ball joints are new upper and lower and have grease fittings, the steering box is also new, radius arm bushings, rear leaf spring shackle brackets and the shock towers in the front have also been replaced, the last couple of things was just because these have been known to be problem areas on these years of fords so it was preventative not because it needed them. The truck also has NOS on it, it is all hooked up and the owner prior to me has used it, I have not. That system from summit is $420, you can see the bottle mounted in the bed behind the driver. I am not sure what the rims are off of. They are 17" and as wide as the factory ones, they have the stock size tires on them 275 60 17, they say limited on the center caps and on one of the spokes. The front two tires are new, BF Goodrich long trail T/A's but the rear two are stock type Firestone Indy's and they need to be replaced as they are staring to weather check pretty good, which is why I they are on the rear instead of the front. I have been driving the truck every day since I have got it, which has been about three months now and have had no problems at all with it. It could use a front end alignment when the new ball joints, steering box, radius arm bushings and shock towers were installed it didn't get a front end alignment, it pulls a little bit but not bad but the biggest thing is the steering wheel is not straight. The A/C works great and is nice and cold. There is a am/fm cd player, pioneer brand that sounds good. The power door lock does not work on the driver door, I think the previous owner may have taken the door lock actuator out of the door as I don't see the rivots where it would have been rivoted to the door. The cruise control does not work either, not sure why I have not investigated that. The speedometer does jump around a little the faster you go the more it jumps. There is a check engine light on but it has been on since I got it and doesn't affect anything, I just didn't get around to seeing why it is on. Both tanks are leak free and do work, gas gauges also work for both. There is a little rust as you can see in the wheel wells of the box, that is typical on these years of trucks but the rest of the box is very nice as you can see in the picture. The tailgate is good and both doors are good. There is a little rust on each front fender. Overall the truck is in pretty nice shape, the floors are very good and the frame is not scaled up. The last picture is of the drivers side cab corner and floor pan, this way you can see the truck is in pretty nice shape, the floors are pretty much still gray primer. Cab corners are starting to get some surface rust and maybe a little hole showing but still pretty strong. Why am I selling it? I am selling it because I also have a 94 lightning but it is apart. I really don't need two of them so I figured the running and driving one would be easier to sell. I have too many cars and need to start to reduce the collection and I am thinking about buying a super duty Ford pick up again. I think it works a little better for pulling a car trailer then the half ton does. This is a no reserve auction on a good running and driving truck. 93 was the first year for the lightning and it is hard to believe but they are 20 years old now. In 93 they made 5276 lightnings, of which 2585 were red and 2691 were black. It was the only two colors you could get in 93. I believe this truck has the factory paint on it yet, I could not see any evidence of overspray anywhere and you can start to see the primer in spots from the paint getting thin. I am not sure why it doesn't have the lightning decals on the sides of the box, I looked pretty hard and I could not see any evidence of them being there so if someone took them off they did it a long time ago, the one on the tailgate is there but it is pretty faded. I do have the SVT certificate for the truck to prove it is legit, or as some people say its birth certificate. I also reserve the right to end the auction early as I do have this truck for sale locally as well. If you want to make a good offer let me know and I can add a buy it now. I also will be advertising two project cars soon. I have a 71 maverick grabber, factory 302 automatic car and a 64 1/2 mustang, factory D code 289-4V 4spd car if interested please inquire or watch for listings at a later date.
