Vehicle Detail

1998 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with Exterior Trim Upgrade (153654 miles) This was a black-and-white marked squad car that was completely repainted black in 2003. At that time, the tail lights, trunk fascia, grill, bumper trim, and door handles were upgraded to the newer black style found on more current model years. It has the extremely comfortable (and expensive!) Seats Inc 911 Police power driver seat, similar to a Recaro. It has some staining from wear, and I am unsure if it would clean up or not. Cloth front passenger seat. Vinyl rear seat. Rubber floor. Carpet floor mats. The car has been lightly vacuumed, but no extensive cleaning has been done. The whole car will likely look much better after an interior shampoo and a wet wipe-down of all of the rest of the surfaces. Features, conditions and known issues:CD player is wonky and rarely plays CDs. Otherwise, stereo works (does have RDS);Driver's side spotlight is tough to turn;Driver's side spotlight does not turn on, check bulb; Some spilled white paint in trunk;Rust holes on each fender;Engine starts OK; (see video below)Some engine lifter tick under heavy load, but not typically noticeable;Engine oil OK;Battery OK;Charging system OK;Power steering small leak;Transmission fair-to-good, some occasional hesitation;Brakes fair, some pulsing on heavy braking, maybe check rotors for warp;Tire tread fair-to-good;Air conditioning OK;Heat OK;Power windows OK;Power mirrors OK;Driver power seat OK;Remote trunk release OK;Full size spare OK;Ignition key removal override OK; (turn switch on, remove key, engine stays on, touch brake, engine turns off)Upgraded to 2001+ black trim, taillights, door handles, and honeycomb grill; bumper molding deleted;Heavy duty rear springs upgrade in 2005;Typical screw and button holes on interior trim; The car isn't perfect, but I feel the photos represent the defects well. It would be a good car for someone who is (or is good friends with) a mechanic and body guy. The interior is in pretty good shape considering its mileage and it's an overall comfortable ride. No warranties are expressed or implied. Car is sold as-is, where-is. No returns or refunds. On Jul-17-13 at 08:31:40 PDT, seller added the following information:Switch on the center of the dash is the Ignition Override. If turned on when the car is running (in Park), key can be removed and the car will still run (heat-A/C will operate). Vehicle cannot shift out of park until key is reinserted or switch is turned off. Brake pedal does not kill engine as stated above. Very handy for quick stops in the heat of summer or cold of winter.
