Vehicle Detail
0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false 1996 Jaguar XJ6, recently removed from daily driving. Mainly highway driving to and from the office. Yokohama 255/40ZR18X tires are one year old and have just over 7000 miles on them, and show no visible uneven wear. Upgrade Jaguar alloy rims outstanding. Absolutely NO rot or rust through. Body and frame are rock solid and tight, no squeaks or rattles. Engine is strong and consumes under one quart per 5000 miles. I have never added oil between changes, and car has always run on full synthetic oil. Car's inspection is current and has passed emissions with no smoke. Exhaust system is sound. Auto trans works fine as does the traction control and rear end. All instruments on dashboard work. Clock does not display correct time (display is dim and scrambled). Strong A/C. Power sunroof works fine. Power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, power windows, power door locks, AM/FM cassette with optional Jaguar 6CD changer works perfectly, with strong rich sound and deep low bass from the factory speakers. Wood panels on instrument board are perfect; wood inserts on center console have two extremely light hairlines, you can only see them when the light hits it just right. Wood inserts on drivers door displays some heavier hairlines, and a couple of very light ones on the front passenger insert. Rear inserts are fine. Leather upholstery is in good shape, drivers seat shows normal wear, no tears or perforations as can be seen in photos. Passenger seat and rear seat is near new. Carpeting is in good shape with normal marks in drivers footwell, no abuse. Trunk is A-OK, carpet inserts are clean. Original owners and service manuals are included with car. Here are the issues with this car: needs to be repainted (it is the original factory paint), headliner began to sag and has been put back up using heavy duty headliner adhesive, front end needs new shocks / struts and top shock bushings; drivers door inside latch (release) does not work and needs to be replaced, and there is corrosion to the ecm connector which needs to be cleaned and burnished, which occasionally results in sporadic momentary loss of horsepower when driving and occasionally causes engine stumbling when started cold. You should have this item serviced prior to putting car on the road. No warranties, either expressed or implied. This is a no-reserve auction. A deposit of $499 is required by PayPal within 24 hrs of close of auction, with balance payment by cash or cashiers / certified check within 7 days of end of auction or at time of pickup IF pickup arrangements are within 7 days of end of auction. Vehicle must be paid in full prior to release. Clear title. Car is located in Somerset, New Jersey, north of Princeton. Car can be seen by appointment. I will work with your auto shipper to make pickup smooth and easy. A great fixer-upper candidate or parts car. Good luck! On Jul-08-13 at 06:07:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry, a few of the photos of the interior uploaded upside down or sideways. I have tried to correct this however there seems to be a glitch in eBay that is not letting the pictures rotate. If you need any of these photos right side up please e-mail me and I will be happy to send them to you directly. Also please note I neglected to mention a small puncture in the front bumper wraparound. This is clearly visible in the photos and a friend who owned a body shop told me it is easy repairable by any shop, it is not necessary to replace the wraparound. It would just be done at the same time as the paint job should you elect to have the car repainted.
