Vehicle Detail
Hello there. Thanks for checking out my auction. This auction is for my 2003 Sonic Blue Cobra. I am the original owner, title in hand. Only selling because I ordered a new Shelby 2014 and it will be here soon. A year ago, I registered the car for 2 years, with every intention of keeping it for the rest of my life. fortunes change and I was able to afford an upgrade. This car will be sold, it will be gone. I have estimates from CarMax and a local dealer willing to accept it as a trade in now. I am starting the bidding at the midpoint of these offers. I would like the car to go to a good home, someone who will appreciate it. The car has never been to the track, only seen daily driving duties for the first 5 years, then it became a weekend warrior. A little about the car: 2003 Sonic Blue Cobra #3157 of 8394 coupes, built on 09/21/2002. Performance mods: Diablo 2.8 pulley2 x 100mm pullies (replacements for the 92 mm stockers)Diablo Predator -- got the upgraded version in 2010, original version was 2004. K&N AirCharger (63-1051)Magnaflow Catback Performance Clutch Kit - Stage 4, good for 650 hp (drivetrain) installed less than 1000 miles agoWheels: Nitto 555 Extreme 275/40/18s on Enkei RZ-5's 18x9.5 -- tires have less than 750 miles on them.Car initially dyno'd at 363hp/390tq, after mods 465hp/460tq on a DynoJet at the wheels Appearence mods: Tint (18%)Stainless Steel Bumper LettersSequential Tail SignalsFord Cobra Floor MatsCar repainted completely in summer 2010, garage kept or under cover since.Note: The transformer logo in the grill is gone, replaced with the original stock pony =) Also:Car is equipped with Lojack with the Early Warning system ($1000 install alone) and it goes with the car. I have always maintained the car with full synthetic oil. First change at 500 miles with Ford replacement, second change at 2500 miles with Ford replacement, third change at 5K miles with Mobil1 10w-30 full synthetic. Regular service done, all maintenance done by my own personal mechanic, 50K mile service included changing of all fluids for tranny, rear, supercharger coolant, coolant, etc. Since I've owned the car, the following have failed and been replaced:Alternator, rebuilt unit May 2010.AC fan, new unit, June 2011.Battery first replaced in March 2007, second replacement May 2010 (didn't need it, just decided to)Three sets of tires, stockers were replaced with 18" chrome rims (at 15K miles on car), ran Nitto 555s on them as well, first set lasted to 39K miles, second set till 75K miles.Breaks, don't remember the mileage on these replacements, I did upgrade to slotted rotors and they work fantastically. It is a used car, and I was a bit rough on the drivers seat, it needs to fixed up. See pictures for detail. Otherwise, the car runs and drives very strong. At 75K miles, I did a bunch of work on it, and I've put less than 500 miles on it since. New car will be here in a few months, and I want to save the insurance since I don't drive this but every few weeks. Car looks great, and has been only driven by me. I have no hesitation selling the car to anyone and I feel they would not have to touch anything (minus breaks, fuel, and tires - depending on how you drive it) for the next 25K miles. At 100K I was thinking of porting the supercharger and having the whole car gone over for upgrades (bushings, performance mods, etc). Since I'm far too busy to do that, I figure someone else will have fun with this -- hopefully as much as I did. Everything comes with the car, I have all the stock parts, the stock rims (rough shape, but if you want them, they are yours). I originally installed an aftermarket stereo, but I have since put the stocker back in, it has a year of service on it, was on a shelf in my house for nine years. That's about it. Ask questions, come see it, etc. It's been my pride and joy. Happy bidding. On Jul-07-13 at 11:31:35 PDT, seller added the following information:I was looking through everything, forgot to mention I have an additional Enkei Rim in the box that goes with the car as well. This one was slightly damaged during shipping (scuffs on rim) and the manufacturer sent me another. Totally usable can probably polish out the scuffs, but I never tried. If you are the winning bidder, please let me know if you want both sets of rims, the stocker aluminum rims 17".On Jul-09-13 at 15:55:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added additional pictures. Not pictured is the rim in the box (and additional Enkei matching rim). I have the original window sticker. As someone pointed out, the title does say silver. The car was never silver, this car was ordered by me, the guy before me ordered a silver car but backed out, as a result the car was changed and the title never updated. The VIN matches my car and the window sticker, which clearly shows Sonic Blue. I waited six months for this car and color. I have the SVT certificate, original sales sheet and folded brochure. Like I mentioned, this is my baby, never intended to sell her, I was going to be one of those 70+ year old men with the car from 40+ years ago showing off his car. I kept all the docs. In the picture are the original pulley, airbox, trunk netting, Predator, Power Supply for Predator, Lock nut key (all the lugs are locking), Gorilla Lugs. I have a bunch of financial paperwork I'm going to keep, anything specifically with my name and/or financial information. The rest goes with the car. I'll hang onto whatever you don't want as a keepsake =) I want this car to go to a great owner. I've had several of you call me and ask great questions. The Lojack document is there, and I upgraded it in 2010 to include the Early Warning system. On Jul-10-13 at 16:06:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Since it has come up in several people asking questions about the paint, here are my responses: 1. Why does the title say silver? The car was ordered for me. The guy in front of me at my dealership dropped his order (silver coupe) and I got it, so the order was changed, guess they missed that on the title paperwork. I never had it fixed, never cared. You can see from the window sticker (with matching VIN) that indeed the car was delivered Sonic Blue. 2. The car was a daily driver for 5-6 years, after 50K miles in South Florida commuting it had the normal scratches, dings, etc. I planned to keep the car forever and never liked the Ford original paint job. I paid over $3K to have the car disassembled and repainted. The car never needed a full paint job, I just decided I wanted it. I also took the opportunity to replace some old/fading parts (cowl cover, LED break light in spoiler). 3. The car was also towed, which damaged the rear bumper cover, that was replaced, again with a Ford stock part. The repaint did not occur until later. On Jul-11-13 at 17:03:11 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone asked about the drivers seat. Perhaps my description wasn't accurate. The seat works 100% mechanically, its just the leather was well worn on the left side. I've attached two more pictures for clarification. Again, never a problem, controls all work, seat was just sat in by a large dude =)
