'69 Bug Convertible in excellent driver condition. Runs and drives great, needs nothing mechanically for summer fun. Bright yellow with black interior and BRAND NEW ($1,700) convertible top with correct padding, headliner, and glass rear window. This is a very original car that has not been monkeyed with...it would make be a great candidate for your restoration or customization project or can be enjoyed as-is. Includes tow bar and custom-wired tow lights. BODY The body is in fair to good condition, there are a few dings here and there but nothing serious. The previous owner put a low-quality paint job on the car, but it presents well from 10 feet. The stainless trim pieces on the hood and right front fender are missing as you can see in the pics. All glass is good, front windows go up and down fine, rears will operate but are difficult. Floors are ROCK SOLID, no rust. There are some rust bubbles under the paint at the bottom of each door and a spot of rust at the base of the windshield. Chrome is decent. All lights work. INTERIOR All original interior and dash. Modern radio added in glove box plays through speaker in original dash location, no cutting. Speedo, odometer, gas gauge, lights all work. Heater channels in tact and heat blows great. Everything is original and is in good shape, no major flaws. MECHANICAL Engine was rebuilt by previous owner, car runs like a top and starts effortlessly. All original except modern alternator. Transaxle shifts like it should. Steering is tight, tie rods have been replaced. Brakes are strong and don't pull. Tires have good tread and no cracking. If you've ever wanted a solid bug, this is a great candidate for you. I bought the car last year as a "bucket list" item but now it's time to move on to my next project.
