Vehicle Detail
Presenting this rare, immaculate, and exceptionally maintained 1987 Ferrari 412iA in classic Blue Medio Metallic over a light beige interior. This 412i has just 35,379 miles and needs nothing! If you seek a rare 2+2 Ferrari fit for a grand tour, look no further! The Pedigree of the 412i Introduced at the Geneva Salon in 1985, Ferrari's 412i was the last of the continuous run of 2+2 models that began with the 365 GT4 2+2 in 1973 and included the 400i 2+2. When 412i production ended in 1989, it marked the conclusion of the longest production run of a series in Ferrari history (three years would pass before Ferrari introduced the 456). Although 3,000 365, 400, and 412 vehicles were built in all, just 576 of these were 412i models. Ferrari never officially sold the 412i in the United States, but a select few were imported by discerning customers. The "412" model designation referred to the swept volume of a single cylinder. Displacement of the dual overhead cam V12 increased with the 412i to 4,943cc and output increased to 340hp. Ferrari used Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and Magnetti Marelli Microplex electronic ignition. The 412i was the first production Ferrari equipped with a standard anti-lock braking system (supplied by Bosch). Pininfarina built the 412 bodies with fully trimmed shells that shipped to Ferrari for installation of mechanical components. The 412 featured a revised rear wing line with a less pronounced slope to the tail and a raised boot lid line than in the previous 400, which offered increased luggage capacity for grand tours. The 412 featured body-colored bumpers and a larger, more rectangular door mirror style than the 400. Inside, the 412 offered an improved center console arrangement and seat design over the 400. Enzo Ferrari reportedly preferred the 412i as the car he was driven in during his later years. Chassis No. 71263 in Blue Medio Metallic - A Pristine Example This particular 412iA is chassis number 71263 and was originally federalized for importation into the United States by Ferrari of Houston (as indicated inside the driver's door). Chassis No. 71263 is presented in its original exterior and interior colors - blue medio metallic exterior and light beige/blue interior. The sumptuous cockpit features leather on nearly every surface, including the headliner, and offers dual-stage air conditioning with separate rear controls. This rare vehicle is believed to be eligible for Ferrari's prestigious Classiche certification program. The current owner, a Ferrari Club of America member, has serviced it exclusively at Ferrari of Central Florida and stored it under a custom Covercraft cover in a climate-controlled environment. A recent inspection and service included the installation of a new battery. This car needs nothing! The successful bidder will receive the factory tool kit, all books and manuals in their original leather portfolio, and detailed service records. Please Read before Bidding!
