This 2001 WJ spent its entire life in California until I moved about 8 months ago. I built it mildly for better capability when fishing in the mountains. It has a 3” IRO lift, 15” soft 8 wheels, 31” Goodyear Duratrac tires. All around good vehicle, she’s just starting to need time and attention that I can’t give. When I got out of the military and went back to school, I realized quickly I don’t need two vehicles. The Good: A new IAC valve, Crank/Cam position sensor, oil pressure sensor, coil pack, rear axle wheel bearings/ seals, were all replaced in the last year. The front drive shaft is Carolina Driveshaft’s u-joint style with new joints front and rear driveshafts. Engine has good power, transmission shifts firm and when it should. I put new OEM battery cables on it this winter along a valve cover gasket, new battery and starter. No reason other than preventive. Front sway bar disconnects, Addco heavy duty rear sway. Tires only have about 10k miles on them. The Bad: The most bothersome issue is the right rear shock squeaks/rattles going over bumps when at low speed. The shocks and new suspension is only 20k miles old so I don’t know what the deal is. The shop that installed the lift said they fixed it but after a few weeks it came back and I don’t drive it enough to do anything about it. It needs a tune-up, the book calls for new plugs every 25k miles and these ones just went over that. The idle is a bit rough in the morning when cold. There is a buzzing noise when taking off from a stop but goes away a second later. I was never able to diagnose it. This Jeep is NOT a show vehicle; however it is also not a hacked up “crawler”. It’s a good Jeep that needs a little TLC. Interior: 7/10. Everything works! A/C, windows, defrost, radio etc. There are just stains here and there on the upholstery, cracked driver armrest, a cut in the carpet etc. SMOKE FREE. The glass is great and all is pretty good, just not a perfect 10. Exterior: 7/10. The driver’s side rocker has a good crease in it, can't tell from the photos but email me for close ups if you're interested. When I bought it the seller did not disclose that it had any damage, the ding in the latch, right front fender has some black paint scuffs, rock chip in the door, rear bumper plastic is ripped above the hitch. The paint is lightly fading on the front fenders. The Jeep is very clean from 15 ft. Engine: 9/10. The engine runs great, it’s the idle just flutters a bit at idle when cold. It’s fairly common with the inline 6’s, it’s done it since the day I owned it but new plugs do help a bit. I had the rear main seal replaced after Christmas so the oil pan gasket is new too. There is still some drips here and there but you never have to add oil. The diffs and t-case were done last year so should be good for another 50-75k miles. The drive train with the exception of the engine is all synthetic. Bottom line I would drive it across country right now. I have been as honest as I can with this vehicle.
