Vehicle Detail

1973 Torino wagon. Very clean and original with 96k original miles. Nicely optioned with 351C engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, power rear window, A/C and very rare third row rear facing seat! The kids love this option and have a blast riding in the back seat with the rear window down. I am the 3rd owner and the previous owner had the car for 37 years of its life. That owner drove it on family road trips and for going to the family cabin which is why the miles are so low. The body is very clean with original paint. Paint is getting thin in spots, has plenty of chips and is faded but it still looks presentable. Very solid body with no rust in floor pans, frame rails, torque boxes, doors etc. Just a very small amount of rust behind right rear tire and along the bottom of the tailgate along the inside. Tailgate looks good from the outside except for a couple bubbles. There is no evidence of previous accidents or bodywork. Body lines are very good, door hinges are tight and doors open and shut very nicely. Body is very straight except for slight damage to the very front edge of the right front fender. It’s not too noticeable but it was hit lightly. Front bumper is missing on bumper guard pad and is pushed in on the right side and is visible when looking down at it but not really from other angles. Glass is good, back bumper is straight but has pitting. Trim including grill and trim around grill is very nice. Two way tailgate works great. The interior is original and in very good shape. Seats are nice with no rips, tears or stains. The driver’s side does sag a bit though. Dashpad is nice with no cracks, door panels are good with no speaker holes. Lower dash is very clean and original with no modifications. Carpet is original with some wear on the driver’s side but overall very good. Has original Ford full length rubber floor mats. Headliner is very nice with one slit near the rear of the car. Mechanically the wagon is in very good shape and is ready to drive and enjoy. Starts right up with no smoke, ticks or knocks. Automatic choke works like it should. The transmission has been rebuilt and works well through all gears and the rear axle is tight and quiet. The car drives nice and straight down the road and cruises nicely at 70 mph. It tracks straight and the suspension and steering are tight. It does bounce a bit and could use shocks but other than that is drives great. It is quiet on the road with no vibrations or rattles. Everything electrical works on this car including lights, turn signals, backups lights, gauges, wipers, heater, horn, power rear window and even the original AM radio works! The A/C needs a recharge but it is all there and still has the belt on it. The car was maintained by a local shop until just a couple years ago when the owner stopped driving it which is why it is in such good shape mechanically.Overall this is a very original and solid wagon that is ready to drive as is or it would make a great foundation for a hotrod wagon! No reserve!
