This is a BLAST FROM THE PAST! A WONDERFUL 1979 GMC SUBURBAN with virtually NO rust or corrosion. This suburban spent most of its time near the mountains of North Carolina and Georgia, thus the lack of rust and / or corrosion. This has a rebuilt 350 Chevy V-8 hooked to an automatic transmission with a Posi-traction rear end and disc brakes. It runs really smooth and is great to drive. Everything feels super tight. The tires are in excellent condition with Goodyear Wranglers up front and SIX PLY Coopers on the rear. Note the pictures of the tires, they are in great condition and great tread. As noted it came with the factory installed trailer towing package that includes a CLASS III receiver hitch and the noted posi-traction system. Can't you just see it towing a 70's Air Stream trailer or a nice Chris Craft type boat? There are NOT any unusual noises or rattles. The doors are tight and fit well. The rear door is a fold down gate with an electric window (see picture). Everything works as it should, including the air conditioner. The headliner is in pretty good condition, not perfect but does NOT have rips or tears. Note the great outside rear view mirrors. We have recently changed all of the fluids. As noted, everything works as it should (with the exception of the dash clock). The radio is an after market Radio Shack unit with cassette tape player. All of the windows are good except for one dime sized nick in the lower edge of the windshield but it is not in the line of vision and appears to be just fine, not spreading . We are located half way between Atlanta, GA. and Charlotte, NC, just off Interstate 85 at the SC exit number 19, close to Lake Hartwell, at the Anderson, SC / Clemson University exit. Note the pictures that show the nice, clean, rust free, corrosion free, body of this suburban. The doors and hinges show no rust or corrosion. The doors are super solid as is the entire body. 2. Being a 34 year old classic, there are some nicks and bumps but nothing significant. The biggest is the rear bumper that shows some past contact, see photo. 3. Note that it has a FACTORY INSTALLED TOW PACKAGE with a CLASS THREE RECEIVER HITCH. 4. Parts added to it include new U joint, wiper blades, recent battery and all fluids have been recently changed. 5. TIRES: The front Goodyear Wranglers and the 6 ply rear COOPERS are very good. There is NO DRY ROT on these tires and the DOT dates indicate recent production. 6. This is a SIX PASSENGER suburban with fold down rear seats and a fold down rear door with an electric window that works very well. Note the picture that shows, with the rear seats folded down, just how much hauling room there is in this vehicle. Your entire troop could camp out in this one. 7. The brakes work perfectly, the vehicle stops straight and true. 8. The engine starts immediately and runs smooth. 9. The transmission is strong and shifts nice and smooth. 10. The suspension has had the correct attention and it rides very well and it is a joy to drive. 11. This is a really nice vehicle that is very reliable. 12. We noted that the windshield has a small nick, outside of the vision line and it has been treated with resin. This is no longer a problem and most likely will never spread. THIS IS A GREAT VINTAGE VEHICLE AND IT WILL SERVE WELL FOR MANY YEARS. This pre computer age vehicle, was made with REAL DETROIT STEEL. Great, great vehicle.
