Vehicle Detail

1977 GT750B LE MANS ORIGINAL OWNER. Bought new in July 1977 in Nashua NH when I was a 20 year-old Pfc Air Traffic Controller in the Army at Ft. Devens. Ridden to California in 1979. In storage and last registered in 1985 in California. In 2003 a restoration by Mike Cook (Mike Cook American Cafe Racers) was completed including hand painted (no decals) original paint at West Coast Choppers and a full cosmetic restoration with polished engine cases, fork lowers, new tires and other pieces. This bike is cosmetically a 9+ with Superbike bars, aftermarket brake reservoir and turn signals which return the bike to the slightly modified set-up I had back in 1979. Exhaust is original, intake is K&N. Pictures clearly show the pristine condition of this machine. Fork lowers were reversed in '79 to place brake calipers behind the forks and lower cg. Mike Cook who did the restoration is from England and used to refer to it as a "kettle". He is well known for constructing a bike called the SuperManx when he worked at West Coast Choppers. When I met him he was working on the Bobby Rayhall Indy Car team as a mechanic. Look him up on Google. Over here we called the GT750 a "Water Buffalo". This bike was my 3rd two-stroke Suzuki - previously I had a T500 and then a GT550. When I bought this bike new in 1977 it was sitting next to a new GS750e. I knew it would be my last chance to get a GT750. The bike is really in good shape, just needs a few things sorted out mostly because it hasn't really been run very much in the last 30 years. I spent more than $3000 on the restoration but did not overhaul the motor. I will include the original owner's manual and CLYMER Service Manual. Those familiar with this beast know that in 1975 Suzuki revised the porting and scavenging specs on this motor turning it into a low 12 second 1/4 mile machine that could still outpace a KZ1000 in a top gear roll-on. Add some pipes and you have all the power of an H-2 without the squiggly handling and temperament. A small project for a 2-stroke lover and you have something to take to your local bike hangout that will command attention. Winner "Best Suzuki" at Southern California Two-Stroke Extravaganza in 2008. This machine is a purebred with a pedigree - never mishandled or abused. I can deliver to Southern California address by trailer after full payment. All other shipping at buyers expense. $500.USD will hold the bike until full payment is received within 10 days of close of auction. E-mail questions and I can send more pics. I am retired now from the FAA and want to see the bike in the hands of someone who will ride it again. Thanks for your interest.
