1973 VW Transporter Van - Back to the Future Libyan Van Replica VIN# 2232251754 Mileage 65,593 Description: This is an awesome 1973 VW Van. We bought this van in late 2010 as a companion vehicle for our 1981 DeLorean Time Machine replicar. We’ve sold the DeLorean, so now it’s time for the VW to find a new family. It’s a great runner and we have had all service done by Ed at Off-Campus imports in Norman, OK. To date we have invested about $7000 into the bus. Per Ed, the engine in this VW is a replacement. At some point prior to our owning it, a 2.0 liter Van engine was installed. We believe the transmission is still original. There is still a little bit to do (about $1000 of interior work), but we feel that this is a great value at a great price. There are only three areas of rust on the VW that I’m aware of and they are shown in the images below. The underside of this bus is probably one of the nicest you will see for a 40 year old VW.
