Vehicle Detail

PRICE REDUCED TO SELL. Buy now or no reserve auction. Number 2650 of 1st 5,700 "unit" Bonnevilles made in 1963. 100% disassembled and reassembled. Purchased from estate of original owner. Sold new in May '64 in Portland, Oregon. Original sales receipt and owners manual with sale. This project was completed to be a rider for the seller and not a concours entrant or for museum display. Some components were therefore kept as original to retain patina of age; these components are wheels/spokes;headers;mufflers;headlamp and all handlebar bits. All components operating nicely. Runs strong and straight. 100 test miles only since assembly. Frame and motor numbers match. All black components powder coated semi gloss. Primary frame painted. (engine was disconnected but not removed from frame). Rebuilt. Top end, forks, brakes. New: seat/pan, subframe. tires, sump plumbing*, front mudguard, paint (Alaska White with correct trim), tank badges; UK bars (installed as sellers preference); plus a few bits. Transmission is working nicely without noticeable defect, so not rebuilt *('63 Bonnevilles did not have a return oil line to oil tank or vent) FYI for some viewers: '63 Bonnevilles did not have air cleaner/filters on carb intakes and no carb chokes. '63 Bonnevilles are 6 Volt electronics Offered through other sources and seller may end listing. This bike was sold at $11,000 last month with a $1,000 deposit, but could not close and deliver due to death. Deposit retained so relisted a lower price. None better ! Original license plate retained by seller Crate for shipping about $400 REGARDING TOP END: New .020 pistons with new rings, pins, value guides, springs, gaskets, seals, valve seat and grind, bore and hone cylinder block, glass bead and paint block. No excessive wear on lifters, cams, rod bushing. REGARDING FORKS: The early production bikes used the type #1 (of 3 types) internal spring system. PHONE NUMBER: 503 274 2107 I will be pleased to answer questions. Top end, forks, paint by David Wedlake, Portland, Oregon. Search "David Wedlake"
