Vehicle Detail
Selling my 2000 Honda Insight. It has served me well as a commuter but have a need for a larger car and alas this has to go. It has a clear title and has roughly 185k on the car. It's a 5sp manual with new tires and a 3cyl engine, the car runs great!.. No issues with driving across the US with this one. I commuted 100miles+ daily in this car. Back 3 windows are tinted. Has K&N Air Filter.I originally purchased the car with a bad Hybrid back and thought I would need to buy a new hybrid pack, I started driving this and noticed that because I do so many highway miles the hybrid bring disabled did not make a difference. I bypassed the hybrid system so I could run like a normal car. The car charges the 12v battery without issues and you don't have to worry about charging anything to keep the car on the road. It's a 100% solid commuter and has yielded me up to 73mpg on longer commutes. In the summer months I would typically average 55 to 60mpg and in Winter it would range from 48 to 55mpg.. The transmission also has the common 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st downshift synchro issue. This doesn't affect driveability, and you can drive without issues, just a quirk that is a trait to all first gen Insights. I've put on around 30k+ Miles since I've owned it and never had any issues it just runs, and does a great job doing such. If you're looking for a solid and reliable commuter car or something you and your significant other can take on long trips, this is a great car that will keep your money where it should be.. In your possession and not the possession of the oil companies.
