In 1983, the Reagan Administration levied a high tariff on imported motorcycles with 700cc or greater displacement. Honda responded by making modest changes in their Magna 750, dropping its displacement to 698cc while actually increasing performance slightly due to a higher compression ratio. They kept the bore the same, but decreased the stroke.) The VF700C features a transverse double overhead cam 90deg V four cylinder engine, quad carburetors, water-cooled, shaft drive. It provides 83 HP at 10K RPM. The motorcycle being sold here was built in Japan in April, 1984, making it one of the very earliest VF700C bikes. It has low mileage, just 16,162 miles. The seat is in pristine condition and the bike is overall very clean. It has a detachable National Cycle Streetshield EX wind screen. The tires are nearly new. A complete Honda shop manual is included. Now for the bad news: The bike has been dropped several times while being used as a trainer for my daughter. The muffler on the left side is bent as can be seen in the photos. The right side fiberglass panel is cracked. There are scratches here and there. I have replaced the tail lights more than once. The front fork seals and boots are bad, with the fork leaking enough oil that the front brake pads are probably in need of replacement. I have the seals and boots to repair this but lack the mechanical expertise. The carb stack was replaced with a rebuilt unit and the tank was thoroughly cleaned. The bike has not been started for a year and may need the battery replaced and some fuel system work before it will run. If you have questions, don't hesitate to email me through the eBay system.
