Vehicle Detail

The Dick Faulk 1932 Coupe! Original survivor 50’s hot rod, fully documented with history and provenance. Now offered at a substantially lowered auction reserve price! 1932 Ford full-fendered 5/window coupe, first modified in 1948 as a hot street coupe. Was featured at the 1951 Oakland National Roadster Show, and ran at well-known drag venues in Southern and Northern California, where the car trophy-ed regularly. In 1956 the coupe was painted “Naples Orange” (similar to “Matador Red”), and appeared on the cover of Sept 1957 Custom Rodder with feature article. Also the subject of other magazine coverage during same period. Entered for second time at Oakland in 1958, where it trophy-ed as “Best Street Coupe”. Car has survived for the most part completely intact with all pertinent components and features as it appeared, was drag raced, and street driven in 1954-56. The highlights of which are: Øexcellent unchopped body and fenders Øcomplete hood with original paint on hood top and door jambs Øoriginal chromed steel firewall cover and stainless steel running boards Øchromed rear frame horn covers all of which were unique to this renowned ’32 coupe. The car still retains the original Culver City Halibrand Q-change rear end and ’39 Ford three-speed trans. A completely gone through flathead powerplant that is correct for the car, is included and awaits installation. This motor is a fresh Stan Vermeil build that started with a perfect 59A block, 3 5/16” bore, 4 1/8” stroker crank, Ross pistons, adjustable Johnson tappets, Winfield cam. Correct Weiand 4x2 intake with 4 “97” Strombergs and new condition Eddie Meyer heads. The engine block is presently covered in a moisture proof storage wrap. Heads and intake need to be installed. ’40 Ford juice brakes, with drilled and scooped backing plates, original drilled Ford beam axle, chromed wishbone, and ’50 Mercury wheels and hubcaps. The original black Naugahyde upholstery and headliner as done in1956, and chromed garnish mouldings, are all in excellent shape. Rare opportunity to acquire a real California Golden Age hot rod. This car can be easily finished, and deserves to be driven and displayed at any historic gathering of famous 1950’s CA hot rods. Car is currently located in central coast California.
