Vehicle Detail

I bought this car as a parts car to repair damage to a Coupe Deville, but after I got it cleaned up, I just can’t bring myself to dismantle it. It is either a good project car or a very good parts car. This car is a relatively rust-free, very straight, very complete running and driving Fleetwood Brougham with the rare factory sunroof. It spent all of its life in dry New Mexico. The chrome and trim is all in excellent condition, no pitting. The only rust is along the bottom of the rear window where the vinyl top was holding moisture. All the windows work and all the glass is good. The sunroof works with help, but won’t close all the way. The powers seats work, blower works but does not blow cold. The guy I bought this from said the speedometer recently stopped working, thus the odometer is no longer turning; it shows 106k miles. I believe the car to have less than 115k as the last owner only drove the car a short distance to school every day, but there really is no way to know what the real mileage is, I included a picture of the peddles that show limited wear. The vinyl roof has been removed and replaced with latex paint (yes, latex). The leather seats are shot and the dash and armrests are severely cracked. Surprisingly, the door panel uppers are in nice condition as is the carpet. The headliner has some tears. The paint has been subject to unfortunate customization. The door jambs were not repainted, the original color is gold. The car does not have it’s original engine. I was told it is an engine from a later model Cadillac. It is a 4 barrel V-8, It looks like a Chevy 350, but I could be wrong. It starts and runs but leaks pretty bad. The temp light is always on in the car and the water light comes on sometimes, but the car has never overheated to boiling over. One rear shock is broken, the front end makes occasional noise on hard turns but it actually rides pretty smooth. Transmission, steering and brakes are fine. Comes with a nice CD player and big amplifier in the trunk. I hope somebody sees this as the diamond in the rough it is and chooses to restore it. Please e-mail with questions. For a fee, I can deliver up to 250 miles. $200 Deposit due via Paypal within 48 hours of auction close, balance due buy cash, certified funds or wire transfer within 7 days. I can hold the car, uninsured, up to 30 days provided it is paid for.
