THE OVERVIEW Offerred for an appreciating new owner is this 1985 BMW 535i with factory 5 speed! Finished in what appears to be ALL ORIGINAL bronzitbeige metallic over light tan leather, this 99.9% rust-free 535i sedan has been driven just over 145,000 miles [the odometer recently stopped]. This classic E28-chassis BMW sports the venerable 182 horsepower 3.5 liter inline six cylinder engine mated to the 5 speed manual transmission. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock. Features include COLD air conditioning, electric windows and sunroof, cruise control, factory am/fm/cassette stereo, manual leather seats, OBC computer, fog lamps, correct TRX wheels and tires with excellent tread, plus the original matching spare in the trunk. PLEASE CALL 650-307-2251 FOR QUESTIONS, TEST DRIVES OR MECHANICAL INSPECTIONS THE BODY AND TRIM As I hope is articulated in the many photos here, the body and trim of this original paint 28 year-old classic is in good condition on all of the side surfaces and worn away/sun scorched on the top surfaces. It is though close to 100% rust-free being an always California car. There are a couple of nicks and other paint blemishes here and there including a small scraped area around the left side taillight. The wheels are a bit dull with some curb rash though the very expensive TRX tires are close to new with excellent tread. THE INTERIOR The interior of this classic E28 535i is in pretty good condition with the nice leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel. Yes there are some small heat cracks on the top of the dash but the door panels, carpet and headliner are all in quite good condition overall. The original stereo works [with crackly speakers], the A/C IS ICE COLD, the sunroof tilts and slides. three of the windows are inop as is the odometer, the leather seats are in very good condition with just a couple small blemishes. Overall this is still a pretty cool cockpit with excellent BMW-sedan visibility THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This classic BMW sedan starts, runs, shifts and drive amazingly well with EXCELLENT acceleration, tight crisp handling, excellent braking with great pedal feel and tight suspension. There is a slight rear wheel bearing sound and a highway shimmy. Possibly just a wheel balance or worn tie rods.
