1978 Triumph Spitfire 1500 Barn Find with Removeable Hardtop. Also has convertible soft top and convertible bows. I bought this car at an auction and don't know much about it's past other than it is in amazingly unmolested condition. It literally looks as if someone just parked it twenty or thirty years ago and forgot about it. Nothing has been cut up or torn up. It is 99% percent complete and the engine runs just beautifully. The brakes are there but need to be redone due to age. The tires have good tread but are very cracked and dry rotted. I put a new clutch master cylinder on but the slave cylinder still needs attention so it is not activating the clutch. All the gears are there. The dashboard is really nice and unaltered. The seats may not be the correct ones, I really don't know. What I do know is that with a very little bit of work this would be a beautiful, very original, Triumph that could be driven daily and enjoyed as it was 35 years ago. If you want to restore it you are starting with a straight, basically complete, running original. Almost forgot - VERY IMPORTANT - there isn't any rust on the frame at all. The only rust I have seen on the car is a couple of quarter size holes in the driver's floorboard. No big deal. The remainder of the car is remarkable free of rust. The nicest unrestored British vehicle I have seen in many years. This is a NO RESERVE auction and will be sold at the end of the auction to the highest bidder. We are a Mom and Pop dealership and as such must collect sales tax where applicable. This vehicle must be towed or trailered away due to the condition of the brakes and tires. Remember: NO RESERVE!
