You are bidding on a 1979 VW Convertible. This car is green with a white interior and a black top. It has a 1600 engine, however the original fuel injection unit has been removed at some point. The car has a solid drive train that runs well. The positives: The car is solid and complete. It doesn't suffer from rust issues. It has surface rust on the hood, deck and rear apron, but it is very repairable. The interior is complete with no rips or tears. The passenger seat has a couple of stains that I believe can be removed with a good detailing. The carpet is in good shape with no major defects. The car has a good fit and finish, all of the glass is complete and aligned. The car has been adult owned since new and shows no sign of modification ( aside from the fuel injection swap and radio ). The optional wheels are freshly powder coated with all of the appropriate caps. The tires have 0 miles on them. The car has a new carburator. I have replaced the brake shoes. They have less than 5 miles on them. The battery box is solid. The negatives: The top, although devoid of rips and tears, has a frame issue on the drivers side in the rear. I can't tell whether there is a bolt missing or there is a broken bracket, but the left side of the top above quarter glass lacks the proper form. I am not able to open the hood. I have had it open, but the lever in the glove box stopped releasing the hood. The rear floorpans are soft and need replacing, however the front pans are solid.
