Up for sale is a beautiful, very well kept and maintained 74 Mexico blue targa. This car has had the same owner for the last 28 years and used as a summertime toy all of that time. The car has been maintained and repaired when needed including a transmission rebuild, all new brake calipers, rotors and pads, carrera chain tensioner update, clutch, flywheel, and lots more. Invoices totaling over $10,000 in the last 5,000 miles.The car was repainted once approximately 12 years ago and has some nicks, scratches and a few small surface rust spots, overall a good driver quality job, I would rate it a 7 out of 10, it certainly doesn't need to be repainted but you may want to touch up a few areas if you want it really nice. The interior is near perfect and I would rate it a 9 out of 10. There is no rust under the car at the suspension points or on the floor or rocker panels, there is a little surface rust around the battery tray but nothing substantial. HERE'S THE BAD NEWS! Unfortunately the common problem of broken head studs has surfaced and the engine will need to be rebuilt or replaced. The car runs and drives but has a noticeable compression leak under load.My first thought was to replace the engine with a newer 3.0 or 3.2 engine and then sell the car finished but because these cars can be more valuable as original and matching #'s I thought I would leave that decision up to the new owner.Please contact me if you have more questions about the engine as I am very familiar with these cars.
