Vehicle Detail
71 Cuda 340 4spd Numbers Match with Buildsheet 71 Cudas came standard with a low compression 383 engine. Smart buyers chose to spend a little more to get the light and high compression 340 engine which out performs the 383 very easily. Out of only 3300 total 71 Cudas produced with the optional High performance 340 engine. This car is one of the1141 4spd cars. This is a rust free car with it’s original body panels and it’s original #'s matching engine. It is documented with it’s original fender tag and original buildsheet. Only 50126 miles on the clock and it has been fully restored in it’s original color of B5 Blue. This is a no excuses car. I will decode the fender tag: N41 Dual exhaust N42 chrome tips R35 AM/FM Stereo 26 26” radiator EN2 end of tag J45 Hood Pins L25 3 spd wipers L31 fender mounted turn signals M21 drip rail mouldings M31 belt mouldings M88 deck moulding treatment GB5 roof color Blue U Made for the USA AO1 light package A36 3:55 performance axle package B51 power disk brakes C55 Bucket seats GB5 Body color blue H6X9 Black vinyl interior 000 no upper door frame paint 401 scheduled production date April 1st 1971 001157 order number E55 340 engine D21 4spd trans BS23H1B345739 VIN As you can see above, It came B5 blue with a black interior. The black interior has been changed to White interior. This white interior is not a reproduction. The full interior is in unbelievable original condition. It was removed from a Cuda many years ago and has not seen sun light until being reinstalled in this gorgeous Cuda. The following options have been added: White Bill boards, Rear wing, front chin spoilers. This Cuda sits on 15X7 Rally rims with correct Poly Glass Good Year tires. Nothing is cooler than looking at a 4 spd pistol grip shifter with no console. The trunk holds the correct space saver spare. As we all know, no car is perfect, at least no car that I have ever owned. I will now describe the not so perfect details: The driver side mirror chrome is thin. Not pitted, not flaking, just isn't perfect, looks like its been polished to death. It's still so nice that there is no real reason to replace it. The chrome trim below the doors looks great from the top but if you lay on your back and look up at the bottoms you think they need polishing. Spots, blotches from age. The spare tire is missing the air canister, ( the bracket is there just no bottle) The passenger side exhaust tip isn't centered in the valance opening .It just needs fiddling with to align it. The chrome trim around the front window top center is not pulled in as much as it should be due to a faulty clip. I don’t think that you would notice if I didn’t tell you. The chrome itself is perfect. The original Dash pad is slightly cracked by the speaker (where they all do.) The cloth on the sail panels could be more snug. The tranny has a film of 90wt oil by the front. ( it took 8 years to get there, not like its a drip just needed to wipe it off). So there you have it. Its a B5 Blue 71 340 Cuda with 50k miles and a 4 speed pistol grip with white billboards, rear wing, front spoilers, Rally wheels. The paint is very nice. It isn't chipped, or scratched. no dents or dings. The chrome is perfect, the glass is real nice. The motor is shiny but not to shiny, correct carb and ides nice. The carpet ,scuff plates seats door panels are all real nice. Recap: 71 Cuda Numbers matching Original Motor Documented with Original Fender tag and Original Build sheet Rust free original panels Great color Fully restored show winning car No excuses It is typical for a restoration like this one to cost $75k plus. Here is your chance to own a quality desirable Cuda for less than the cost of a resto. The car is in MN and available for inspection during the auction. Please do not bid unless you are serious and plan to follow through with your commitment. I have 100% positive feed back. I love and understand Cudas. You will not be disappointed with this Car.
