Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is our beloved 1966 Dodge Charger. We are moving and have to downsize and don't want this car parked outdoors so it must go! Body: Nice 99% rust free body with a fair 20-footer repaint in Cadillac three stage pearl. There are two very small pin holes in the trunk lid skin from moisture being trapped between the glue and the skin. I have completely cleaned all of the factory drain holes in the rockers and 1/4 panels and have not found an evidence of rust repair. The prior owner said this car came from the Sacramento, CA area and has been here in the high desert for at least 15 years. The doors, hood, floor pans, rocker panels, 1/4 panels and roof are all very nice. It has some chips and a few light dings here and there but nothing that gets noticed from 20 feet. At some point a new windshield was installed as well. It has a few tiny chips but is not cracked or sand blasted. The car comes with a spare rust free trunk lid if the buyer wants it. Interior : The interior is nice for a driver and still shows well. At some point the carpet and seat covers were replaced however the carpet is a bit faded. We replaced the trunk divider and re-carpeted it at that time. All of the interior lights are functional other than the console lamp (have new switch that comes with car) although one rear lens is missing. The EL guages all light up with the exception of the fuel gauge (also stuck a 3/4 full) and the tach needle. The heater core gives a whiff of coolant smell when the car initially warms up and will need to be serviced. It started doing this a few months after I had the heater box out for a rebuild. It does not leak fluid. All heater controls work great and the fan functions on all speeds. The windshield wipers work flawlessly and park as designed when turned off. I have replaced the under dash wiring harness with a nice, uncut original as well. No burnt wires or fuse box! We also replaced the EL power pack with a new reproduction as well as the tach sending unit (still needs calibration) and 5V cluster voltage regulator. All of the windows roll up and down and have been lubed. The left rear door panel is cracked however I have an nice spare that I will throw in. Engine: I don't know much history of this 440 but it runs good, starts when cold and does not burn any oil with minimal blow by. It is dressed in 1967-68 HP manifolds and 1967 chrome valve covers along with the matching dual snorkel air cleaner. The engine has had a new fuel pump, QuickFuel 750 vacuum secondary carb, fuel line, oil pan gasket, etc installed. There is a little oil that seeps out of the timing cover dowel pins which is typical big block mopar stuff. The engine wears all new hoses, belts, wires, accessory brackets and has a 100A Tuff Stuff alternator to keep the light bright! The radiator was replaced with an Aluminum 3-row to keep things cool in the summer. We drove this car 2500+ miles last November and it got 14-16mpg between Arizona and Oregon. I'm sure I am forgetting some stuff but you get the picture. The windshield wiper motor has been rebuilt, washer bottle replaced, washer motor rebuilt, and a factory style reproduction battery hold down was installed to keep the Interstate battery in place. The ignition system is the tried and true Mopar electronic setup with an orange box mounted under the battery tray. Trans: The trans has a "HEMI" converter and shift excellent. Once in a while the gear selector o-ring will leak a little but nothing that prevents the car from being driven. I have bend all new steel lines and added an external cooler in front of the radiator. Suspension: The suspension features front and rear sway bars, heavy duty aftermarket torsion bars, and 11.75" disc brakes with pin type calipers. I replaced the rotors, bearings, pins, and pads last summer along with the master cylinder. The rear brakes are 10" drums that have lots of life left in them. This car handles really well compared to a stocker. The power steering box is a "stage II" with new power steering lines. The pump does not whine and it does not leak. All tires are almost new with very few miles (<5k). The car is stored indoors so they do not have any checking. The rear differential is a 2.76 open 8.75" for pleasant highway cruising. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I am available by phone at (262) 224 9426 10am-10pm PST. The car is located in Klamath Falls, OR and must be picked up within 14 days of auction end unless other arrangements are made. Remember, we are moving and have to get everything out of here ASAP. Here are links to all of the pictures which were taken last weekend with exception of the underbody stuff. I assure you it still looks the same as last fall. Ebay will no longer permit the use of links so shoot me a message and I will promptly get you links to the picture albums. This car MUST BE SOLD!!! It is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Again if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
