Up for auction is a 1979 Ford LTD II Sport. I purchased this car last fall as a father/son project. I looked at the car, test drove it for a short time, bought it and drove it home. We decided it is just too nice of an original to do what we want to do. I have very little seat time in the car. Here is what I can tell you about the car. Driveline This LTD II shows a little over 91k miles. It is believed to be original, but I could not verify that it was. It still has its original belts and hoses. Both battery cables, plug wires, dist. cap and rotor have been changed. Otherwise under hood appears to be all original. The car looks to have all its original emissions equipment including the EGR and the air pump. The air pumps belt is still on it and appears to function as it should. I did not test the EGR valve. All AC equipment is present. The PO told me that the AC had been converted to r134a refrigerant. The AC worked the day I brought it home. The 351W runs great with no odd noises or any smoke. The automatic trans shifts nicely. The trans pan must seep some as the pan is wet with fluid, but it does not leave and spots on the ground. Interior The car is equipped with front buckets seats and a center console. The drivers seat has a small 2 inch tear in the seat back(see pic). The passengers seat has no tears. There is sun fade on the rigid plastic seat trim on the backside of both drivers and passenger seat. The rear seat is in good shape with no tears. The car is equipped with the ralley gauge cluster that includes a Ammeter, Water temp, oil pressure, clock, fuel gauge, tachometer, and speedometer. All gauges EXCEPT the clock work as they should. It is common for the clocks to fail in these cars. The dash pad has no cracks and is in very good condition. The lower dash has a small spot next to the ashtray were the color was rubbed off buy the ashtray door(see pic with radio). The interior panels are in nice shape with little to no wear. The one exception to this is the speaker grille in the drivers door is cracked. The car is equipped with a AM/FM/8-Track/CB radio( 8-track not included). I don't believe it to be a factory option, but a dealer add instead. Everything on the radio works correctly except the CB. The mic powers up, but the radio doesn't get any reception. I believe the problem to be in the Antenna(see pic). The carpet in the car while having very little wear does have sun fade. The rear package tray is faded as well. The headliner has a spot were the seam separated. Body This car is a very solid and is in its original paint. The car presents overall good with glossy original paint from a short distance, but upon closer inspection has numerous door dings along both doors. There is a scrape along the passenger side rear wheel opening. The trunk lid has multiple small dents in it similar to what hail damage would look like, but I belive it not to be hail damage. This is isolated to the trunk lid only. The stripes have some sun fade and have some cracking. Remember this is an original paint car. They only have original paint once. Wheels and tires This LTD II would have originally have had painted magnum 500 wheels with trim rings. The original magnum 500 wheels were gone when I purchased the car. I installed Original Ford Chrome 14 x 7 magnum 500 wheels. These are not reproduction wheels. These are 40 year old originals. They are not perfect. Two are in pretty good shape. Two have pitting see pics. The center caps are original Ford pieces. They have a little fade and some have some pitting. Tires are Road Hugger Radial GTs They have well over half tread left. The jack and spare tire are missing. $500 deposit due 24 hours after auction Full payment and vehicle pickup due within 7 days unless OKed before bidding.
