September 1975, Jaguar introduced a completely new and radically different two door sports coupe'. A step away from the XKE from the 1960's, the XJ-S was introduced as a high performance luxury 4 place Grand Touring Coupe' to compete with the Aston Martin V8 Coupe', the Mercedes-Benz SL and the Porsche 928. Through the 70's and 80's the XJ-S carried Jaguar's prestigious 5,343cc V12 engine at the front, seeing numerous quality improvements and numerous power increases. By 1989 Ford stepped in and took over Jaguar's production and started pouring money into the quality control and manufacturing plant with one goal in mind, to improve reliability in one of Britain's most famous and coveted auto makers. By 1990 sales and quality had increased dramatically making the 6-Cylinder and 12 Cylinder Jaguar built engines better running, more efficient and reliable. This is an exquisite two owner Oyster Metallic on beautiful original Magnolia Connolly leather and tan carpets. This XJS left the Coventry Browns Lane factory in November of 1990 and invoiced to Jaguar North America that same month. The car was then sent to a Michigan Jaguar dealership where it sold to the first owner. The car was then commissioned into the RM Classic Car Auction company in 2000 where the car sold to the second owner where the car was then taken to AZ and has been ever since. Never smoked in. This 2 owner meticulously maintained XJS has traveled only 70,850 original box A miles, clean title, never wrecked or salvaged. The car has all the original owners manuals, warranty booklets, original Jaguar cut key including the gas cap key, the spare tire, tool kit and jack. Has the original matching boot in excellent condition. All of the power equipment work and operate as they should including the windows, power door locks, mirrors, full power insulated canvas soft top, heated driver and passenger seats and power lumbar. Both heated seats are working perfectly, as do the power lumbar. The car comes with a premium factory Alpine sound. The paint is absolutely gorgeous, still has a stunning shine to it with almost no flaws, the interior is absolutely gorgeous, the leather is in excellent shape showing minor wear and stress cracks, the carpets are excellent without any stains, the wood is gorgeous and show minor harline cracks in the finish on the glove box. All of the trim, the chrome and bright work look outstanding without any damage or cracks. The 15" Jaguar Lattice Sport wheels show very little curb rash and still have a gorgeous finish. The A/C blows cold and works on all the fan speeds with the temperature control, all of the electrics in the car are functioning properly, brake lights, tail lights, headlights, turn signals, side marker lights, and license plate lights all work. Soft top works perfectly and the rear windows go up and down with the top like it should. The brakes have over 50% front and rear pad life left. The automatic transmission shifts perfectly, runs through the gears so smoothly. All of the gauges work and read correctly. This XJS runs and drives perfectly, the beautiful melodic hum of the V12 is a symphony, the car shifts smoothly, and feels so solid and tight. There are no dash lights on. The steering feels incredible, no pulls or vibrations and the suspension feels excellent and tight without any rattles or creaks. The car was just in to a Jaguar specialist for a full service including oil change and coolant. He went over the car and couldnt find anything. Newer tires and brakes, soft top mechanisms recently replaced, and newer bushings in the front.The body is so solid and straight. These make excellent top down luxury motoring cars, do not miss out on this outstanding Jaguar. The XJS shares DNA with the Jaguar E-Type one of the greatest cars ever made.
