1978 Chevy C-65 Fire truck built by Alexis Co. Retired from the Mediapolis, Iowa fire department, has under 16.000 miles, runs and drives very good. I drove the truck from Burlington, Iowa to Wichita Falls, Texas in 2011, with no problems whatsoever, easily cruises at 60mph. I saw the pump in action when I picked up the truck, but have not run it since that time. Emergency lights and siren have been deactivated per Ebay rules, Has good tires, glass , interior etc. The twin air horns are powered by a tank behind the seat which I had to have recertified, and work good. Has both suction hoses and two ladders, has electric rewind Hannay reels on both sides with about 150 foot of red hose on each one with nozzles. Has a Hale road pump out front which drives off the 454 engine. All the lights and turn signals work. I installed three parade seats on top of the truck, but are easily removed. The tank has some holes in it but could be patched if you wanted to use the truck for fire protection. I do not know the capacity of the tank, but figure about 750 gallons. This truck has a low reserve price and will most likely sell, so only bid if you are serious. $500.00 deposit and balance in cash at time of pickup. Any questions you can ask me through Ebay.
