Vehicle Detail

On the auction block for your consideration: 1952 M38A1 (WILLYS) What we have here for your consideration, is a quite unique former US Army Jeep, unique because its for the most part original, other than the tires and a fuel regulator which we added just to protect the carb, other than that this jeep is still the way it was when the army took delivery of it in august 1952, unmolested army jeeps are very difficult to find these days, ohhh its got some scars on it, probably was in the Korean war and then might have done a tour in Vietnam too as most of these did with the units they were assigned, its also unique because im the 1st private owner, you see I bought this jeep direct from a government agency, and im a purest about military vehicles, I don't modify them or alter them if I can help it. The last known unit this jeep was assigned to was the Utah National Guard (Please see the stenciling that remains, left front bumper (UTNG) Prior to my purchasing this jeep, the gov agency that had it rebuilt the engine, then promptly sold it...now that might make sense to them, but go figure... The dash data plates are still all there, army took delivery in august 1952. Speedo says 24481 miles on the clock Once I got the jeep, my MV mechanic went through it and repaired what we could find, tedious things like brakes didn't work, we got all that done, this and that, it has some dents and dings, scratches here and there, but it runs strong, really all I think this old soldier might need is a new coat of paint and stenciling, some new seat cushions and seat covers, and I think it would be a real nice MV ready for whatever you wanna do... The wipers arnt hooked up, don't have much use for those here in Arizona, and the 1st gear synchros are a bit off but we found that sliding into second before going into first makes that much easier (61 year old vehicles all have a quirk or two) the transfer case works, 4 high and low. The original hood number from its last assignment with the UTNG still remains, as far as I can tell all gauges are working, lights work, blackout combat lights as well, even the horn works... Have a look at all the pics, I loaded 22 of them I think, decide for yourself, ask any and all questions before bidding. I have a modest reserve on this jeep, it should sell... No trades please I have a clear Arizona title that's in my name. I don't accept Paypal, I do accept cash on pickup, or a wire transfer, I will also accept a Chase Bank Cashiers check which I will cash at the branch before the jeep leaves my driveway... I do expect full payment within 7 days of auction close or I will have to relist. I will assist with transportation if I can, but its your responsibility to make all arrangements. Again, any questions I will do my best to answer them promptly On Apr-13-13 at 20:08:43 PDT, seller added the following information: This Vehicle is equipped with the original 24 volt system and has not been alterd to 12 volt as many military jeeps have been, also this vehicle is sold "as is where is without warranty expressed or implied"
