Here’s a PHS documented 24237 “Z” VIN 1969 GTO. Built in Fremont, California and purchased new from Doten Pontiac in Oakland with 79K original miles, 2K miles last 10 years (5 yrs. in storage) This GTO spent 43 years within a 40 mile radius and was obtained from original owner’s family. Great color combo of antique gold/black top/gold interior. This is pure Pontiac that’s very original and had good care through the years: no aftermarket radio, headers, wheels, etc. Original keys, clock, AM radio, lighter, glass, wiper arms, five 14” rally II wheels with (5) correct center caps, (4) trim rings, lug nuts, jack assembly. Original (not a reprint) window sticker, owner’s manual, dealer brochure, service manual, (4) T-3 headlights, (2) California blue plates, locking gas cap, receipts, GTO club literature, PHS docs. Hood, trunk and doors line up well. One repaint (late 80’s) with a few small areas in typical spots on trunk floor (correct repair panel included, see photos) trunk otherwise solid. LR vinyl top belt trim included (needs new clips) Interior: Original. Horn, dash, console, interior lights work. Dealer installed Pontiac rally gauges replaced warning lights (mid 70’s) AM radio works intermittently. Driver’s door panel trim included (needs to be reattached) Mechanical: Correct “YS” code engine is stock with exception of carb (Q-jet included) front ID pad appears to be blank. Original owner’s family stated engine is original (original owner deceased) Engine ID as follows: Correct “YS” code block (106898) driver’s side head: GM “62” D shift 1198 E, passenger side head: GM “62” D shift GM 62 1238 F, intake manifold: 9794234 (all 1969 correct) heads don’t appear to have ever been off. Items just replaced: dual exhaust system (original system was toast) valve cover gaskets (valve train clean, see photos) battery, spark plugs, air filter, PCV valve, oil/filter/lube, headlamps, p/s pump (rebuilt) A/C compressor clutch bearing (may need a charge) Within the last 3 years: heater core, timing cover/water pump, intake gaskets, thermostat, alternator, carburetor. Drives well, engine/T400 very strong, rear axle quiet, steering/brakes seem fine. Hideaway headlamps work/sometimes droop (vacuum leak?)
